I know what you're thinking. More manufacted teen pop from the same label thats brought you such actors turned musical artists as Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney and Christy Carlson Romano. There's nothing wrong with that kind of music; it's fun, you can dance to it and it doesn't challenge you, but perhaps audiences are getting a little tired of it?

At the date of this writing Aly and AJ's debut album is about two weeks from it's release date so I can't yet make a complete judgement but perhaps we're set to be surprised.

"No one" was my introduction to Aly and AJ (who both, by the way, play guitar and write much of their own music), the song was featured on the recent 'Ice Princess' Soundtrack and displays broad vocals and a silky relaxing sound but more importantly the lyrics display some beautiful depth ("Your life plays out on the shadows of the wall/ Turn the light on to erase it all/ Wonder what its like to not feel worth less/ so open all the blinds and all the curtains. Don't wanna be no one, but me). Personally I was impressed and touched.

As far as singles from the album goes the girls have so far released the two covers "Do you believe in Magic?" and "Walking on Sunshine"

The album is out this month. Why not get a copy and come to your own conclusion?
