Cover Story

Teen starlet Amanda Bynes makes her return to the big screen after the 2003 smash hit 'What a girl Wants'. In Robots, opening in the US March 11th, Amanda lends her voice to Piper Pinwheeler, a member of a group of misfit `bots known as the Rusties.

The story centers around a young Robot named Rodney Copperbottom (voiced by Ewan McGregor) who is considered a genius inventor. Rodney dreams of two things, making the world a better place and meeting his idol, the master inventor Bigweld (Mel Brooks). On his journey he encounters Cappy (Halle Berry), a beautiful executive `bot with whom Rodney is instantly smitten, the nefarious corporate tyrant Ratchet (Kinnear) who locks horns with Rodney, and the aforementioned Rusties.

The film is Amanda's first animated feature (She also voiced Nellie in the Disney video 'Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure'). Later this year we'll see her in the new teen comedy 'Lovewrecked' starring alongside Mean Girls' Jonathon Bennet and The O.C.'s Chris Carmack, as Jenny, an18-year-old girl obsessed with her favorite rockstar Jason Masters (Cormack), hearing word of Jason's favorite carribean resort she convinces her longsuffering best friend Ryan (Bennett) that they should get summer jobs there. Her dreams come true when Jason arrives for a night on a layover but things turn bad when the two accidently go overboard on a night sailing and end up stranded on a desert island. However, Jenny soon realises they're not lost at all, in fact they're on the other side of the island from their resort. But who could blame a girl from keeping a secret to stay close to her crush right? But things soon start to get complicated and when Ryan reveals his true feelings for Jenny what will the final outcome be?

'What I like about you' Amanda's sitcom is currently in it's third season at the WB and still receiving good ratings. But Amanda insists she's no stuck up celebrity "I like to draw, I eat popcorn. I don't know! I'm pretty normal.". So normal she was recently spotted by the paporazzi riding her bike to work. Hey! it's good for the enviroment. She's currently still living at home with her parents "It's really nice. I'm so lucky. I love my family and why move when you're happy?" and currently doesn't have any plans for college though she would like to attend someday.

Later this year work will start on Amanda's next project, a modernisation of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' which follows the story of a teenage girl who pretends to be her twin brother for two weeks.

Amanda turns 19 in April, and I think Robots going to number 1 in the box office would be the perfect early birthday gift. Check it out, in cinemas March 11th and for more information on Amanda Bynes visit Always Amanda!
