Cover Story: Brittany Snow - Portrait Magazine

Brittany Snow was born March 9, 1986. In March she'll be celebrating her 19th birthday and the release of her first feature film 'The Pacifier'.

You may already know the pretty blonde from the NBC show 'American Dreams' in which she plays Meg Prior, the second child in a family of four growing up in the late 60's. The show has been a solid success for it's network NBC, pulling in many of todays top musicians such as Usher, Hilary and Haylie Duff, Stacie Orrico, Kelly Rowland, Ashanti, Josh Kelly, and more to do cameos playing 60's pop icons. The show is currently in it's third season.

Brittany's career began at the age of 3 when she posed for a Burdines print advertisement. At age 6 she started landing roles in commercials for companies such as McDonalds, Disney and K-Mart. She made her first debut on a TV show at the age of 8 in SeaQuest 2032, she appeared in two episodes. In 1998 her parents hired her a new agent who landed her the role of Susan on "Guiding Light" a CBS Soap Opera. In May 2002 Brittany landed her biggest break yet, earning the role of Meg on American Dreams. Apparently when Dick Clark, a keyplayer in the show, saw her audition he declared 'That's our Meg!'.

'The Pacifier' which opens March 4th nationwide in the USA is a Walt Disney film which follows an undercover Agent (Vin Diesel: The Fast and Furious) who, after failing to protect an important government scientist, learns the deceased man's family is in danger. In an effort to redeem himself, he agrees to take care of the man's children only to discover that child care is his toughest mission yet. Brittany plays Zoe Plummer the eldest child.

Brittany - who cites her favorite actress as Meg Ryan and favorite actor as Robin Williams - also enjoys dancing and has been a member of Broadway Dance, LA Dance Force, Underground & The Pizazz Competitive Dance Group she has also appeared in regional theatre performances of Pirates of Penzance (says her most embarassing moment is when her wig fell off during one performance), Annie, The King & South Pacific as well as a national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

If all goes according to plan 'The Pacifier' may be to Brittany what 'Cheaper by the Dozen' was to Hilary Duff, launching her into more starring roles in feature films, and maybe even a lead performance. We're sure Brittany is someone we'll be seeing a lot of in the future!
