Celeb Fashion: June Highlights
By Mona
This month two major events took place that couldn't be more diverse: The MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, giving away film awards voted by the fans, and the CFDA Awards in New York City, honouring international fashion designers, voted by professionals.
Our favorite celebrities styled themselves in a wild manner at both events - think: flowers, colors, patterns. Sarah Jessica Parker showed up to the CFDA wearing a tribute dress to Alexander McQueen. Her hair, make-up and jewelry fitted very well, but her sad face didn't - a dress like this should be worn proudly!
Both Cameron Diaz and Anna Kendrick were dressed in super short, hot pink floral dresses. The only difference: Anna’s mismatch with the black, bold shoes!
Jessica Biel wanted to go wild, too. But somehow these colors (which normally would have flattered her) along with the cut of the dress made her look very ill. She showed up in a better outfit earlier that week to the Movie Awards, looking all timeless (Dear Alexa Chung, we're speaking timeless looks, not granny-style!)
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen looked at the CDFA also very timeless, but also very typical for them: Blacks and whites, wide clothing, clutches, an overload on jewellery. A+ for choosing black nail polish for the pedicure!
As for men's wear, which was rather boring at both events, David Bowie looked stunning at the CFDA, combining a simple suit with a nice scarf.
Dakota Fannig went back to her young princess look with a effortless yet very beautiful white dress. Maybe because Kirsten Stewart wasn't there?
Miranda Cosgrove brought a classical style to MTV Movie Awards' red carpet. She showed up wearing two different reds and two different materials, a very cool hair updo, decent jewelry and make-up and nude heels.
A theme you were only able to find at the MTV Movie Awards was glitter! At this point I should show you pictures of Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry, but they look just too terrible. Sorry gals! Lindsay Lohan (who didn't give an award away nor did she get one) showed up in a glamorous jumpsuit, that I absolutely adored. Only minus point: Her chest looks weird. There would have been plenty of ways to solve that problem, Lilo!
Audrina Patridge looked a little bit too much like "The Wizard Of Oz’s tin man, but wore to-die-for-shoes! Stephanie Pratt went wild on patterns, a very happy style-decision for her!
Sandra Bullock, who was given the generation award, showed up wearing a glittering black dress, looking incredible hot with a very simple hairstyling and fierce red lips.
