A true breakout star of 2008 (according not only to me, but the Teen Choice Award he has to prove it!), Chace Crawford has everything you could possible want from a great young actor. Looks (shallow, but who cares!), and a great ability to act.
Most people will know Chace, as Nate Archibald from the CW TV series "Gossip Girl". His character does not have it easy, from the ups and downs of relationships, to troubled parents, and not knowing whether his life should be in the classy Upper East Side, and with the rest of the world. As you know, Gossip Girl loves nothing more than snooping into other people’s life, so naturally, we thought we'd do the same.
Christopher "Chace" Crawford was born on the 18th July 1985 in Lubbock, Texas. He grew up in Dallas, alongside his younger sister Candice, (who is a broadcast journalism student), his dad Chris (a dermatologist), and his mum Dana (a teacher).
Although Chace is an actor now, his journey getting here was not an easy one. In 2003, Chace moved to Malibu, California to attend Pepperdine University. But while there, he struggled to find what it was he wanted to do with his life. He tried majoring in advertising, business and communications, but couldn’t decide what to stick with. Luckily, for us, his mother (thanks Mrs. Crawford!) encouraged him to pursue acting. At high school, a career aptitude test revealed he was best suited to performing arts, so it was fate. Chace got signed to the first talent agency he interviewed for, and the rest is history.
In the beginning
In 2006 Chace first graced our screens in the made for TV movie, "Long Lost Son". In it, Chace took on the roll of one character with two names. The movie centers on a women who finds out that the son she though had drowned (played by Chace), is actually still alive.
Chace then headed to the big screen to star in the supernatural thriller "The Covenant", alongside Steven Strait, Taylor Kitsch, Sebastian Stan and Toby Hemingway. The movie follows four young men who belong to a supernatural legacy and are forced to battle a fifth power long thought to have died. The movie was a success hitting the top of the US Box office. Although, Chace did have one complaint about filming. Chace says that "the hardest part of filming The Covenant was the cold temperatures when shooting at night". Chace was well on his way to becoming a star.

You Know You love Me

2007 will be a year that Chace will never forget. In March of that year, Chace got his biggest breakout role to date. Chace secured the role of the loveable Nate Archibald in the multi million selling tv adaptation of the book series Gossip Girl.
The books and show center around the mysterious Gossip Girl, who dishes to teens on the lives of an elite group of upper east side residents. Chace's character Nate never has it east and as Chace says himself "I think Nate's going to be conflicted for quite a while." Whether its trouble with past girlfriend Blair, possible life love Serena, or new girl on the block Vanessa, Nate can never catch a break.

On filming the pilot, this is what Chace had to say: "When we all sat down and watched it I was like 'It's a great pilot'. I was really impressed with the look, the music, unbelievable and there's no weak links on anything from the acting to the directing, the lighting. It all came together very nicely."
The show has gone from strength to strength, been shown all around the world, and on the web. Although it has gotten criticism for poor ratings in the past, the show is now in its second season and scoring its highest ratings. Although many can’t resist Nate, Chace has gotten us to the same audience, "It’s weird you know I still don’t know what a heartthrob is."

Soon will also see the release of a new movie. The Haunting of Molly Hartley stars Chace with Haley Bennett of Music and Lyrics in the title role. The film centers on new girl Molly and her struggle to fit in with the private school cliques. Her new surroundings also come with a catch, becoming haunted by disturbing visions and the exposure of a dark secret from her past. Look out for the film in cinemas this Halloween.
Downtime
So that is the career Chace covered, but what does Chace get up to in his time off from filming.
Chace lives with Gossip Girl co-star and musician Ed Westwick. The 2 are very good friends, and friends are one thing Chace puts a high importance on his life: "Being close to my friends. I like to spend time alone as well, but the best time is with friends around when you can laugh. It doesn't matter what we do are where we are."
Chace is also very sport orientated, citing Golf, American Football, and Basketball as 3 sports he loves to keep fit with. He's also keen on art saying: "I’m an artist – I’m very artistic and it’s great to have that. I have a lot drawings and paintings up in my apartment."

- Before Chace broke into the acting business, he was a valet. He admits to stealing customer's gum while on the job.
- Whenever free, Chace loves to read and work out.
- Chace loves children so much that he gets emotional when they get hurt. (Ahhh!)
- Chace's worst habit is that he doesn't clean his dishes.
- Chace loves eating fried chicken.
- Chace gave his first girlfriend a mix tape for Valentine's day when they were in sixth grade.
- Chace's younger sister, Candice Crawford, is Miss Missouri USA 2008.
- During his senior year at high school, Chace was voted 'Best Dressed'.
- Besides getting married, Chace would love to fly a plane before he dies.
- Chace is right-handed.
- Chace did all his stunts in the movie The Covenant, and claims that he would love to do them in future.
- One of his favorite movies is the 1987 release Lost Boys.
- Chace is scared of spiders but not of heights.
- Chace is very good friends with Jesse Metcalfe who he co-starred with in Loaded.
- He's 6 feet tall.
