Who’s hot this month?

Jimmy Wayne

One of the unheard of stars of country music is the thirty-five year old cutie, Jimmy Wayne. You most likely have not heard much about him. He has only recorded one album to date, the self-titled Jimmy Wayne, back in 2003.

He has had six singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His 2003 single, Stay Gone, reached number three on the chart. Stay Gone was his highest-peaking single so far.

Jimmy Wayne helped co-write the song Put Your Hand in Mine for Tracy Byrd, who put it on his album It’s About Time (released in 1999). The song also was released as a single. Jimmy signed with DreamWorks Records back in 2001.

In 2003, he released Jimmy Wayne. The album held four songs that were released as singles onto the country music charts. The four songs included “I Love You This Much,” “You Are,” “Paper Angels,” and “Stay Gone.”

In 2005, DreamWorks Records closed, and Jimmy was sent to Big Machine Records. Within the years of 2006 and 2007, he released three singles. He did not, however, release an album. His one single released made it to number fifty (“That’s All I’ll Ever Need”), but the other two, “I’ll Never Leave You” and “I Didn’t Come Here to Lose,” did not enter the country music charts.

By 2008, he transferred to Valory. Valory was a secondary part of Big Machine Records. He has released one single: “Do You Believe Me now.” It was entered into the country charts in April 2008.

“My responsibility in the past, when I was sleeping outside every night, was just to survive. My responsibility now is to stay real, stay grounded, and just tell the truth.” — Jimmy Wayne
