Fab Five - Portrait Magazine, July 2010 Issue

July Fab Five
Working the Cool Weather Clothes
Melissa 25 (USA)

I love reading fashion magazines but one of the things I hate is how when they put together outfits, it usually costs several hundred dollars. Money I don’t have. Even the supposed “cheap” outfits are too expensive for most people. Plus it tends to create one outfit and that’s it. I can’t really do much with a leopard print dress, even if I wish it was actually versatile. So for this article, we take 5 articles of clothing and show you five different outfits created out of those five pieces of clothing. The entire cost is $150. I use accessories through some of the outfits and include those separately from the clothing pieces. Even those though don’t cost more than $50 total.

A lot of my outfits correspond to the seasons. The only problem? Many Portrait readers live in the southern hemisphere and it is definitely not warm and summery. So this fab five focuses more on styles for those readers. If its still 114 degrees for you, just save these ideas for the fall.

This month’s Fab Five consist of a cable dress from oasis-stores.com, a sleeveless sweater cardigan from Forever 21, black skinny jeans from www.dorothyperkins.com, a pink oxford from Old Navy and black velvet boots from www.asos.com . The boots are on sale too! Head to www.mleaman.mymarkstore.com for all of this month’s jewelry choices.
