Last month I wrote about the passing of massive fashion designer Alexander McQueen. His suicide is still not official but the coroner’s report concluded that he died from asphyxiation due to hanging. On 18 February 2010, Robert Polet, the president and chief executive of the Gucci Group, announced that the Alexander McQueen business would carry on without Alexander and the last collection he worked on (for Fall 2010) would be presented during Paris Fashion Week. And so here are a few pictures of the collection. There were 16 pieces shown. The collection was greatly inspired by 16th century painter Hieronymus Bosch who specialized in religious interpretation and commentary. Some of the collection’s patterns contained computerized and re-worked prints from the original artwork, including the Bosch masterpiece “The Garden of Earthly Delights.” ![]()
