"Gossip Girl" Returns!
By Patricia (Age 16, Puerto Rico)
Season two of Gossip Girl is coming this September. All GG fans will be locked in front of the TV, Monday the first at 8:00 pm. Of course, we’re all still incredibly aghast by the cliffhanging ending of the first season. Chuck and Blair got back together and then broke up…again! Dan and Serena broke up. Nate and Vanessa broke up, too—seems redundant, doesn’t it? But yet, at the very end, probably at the last minute, you saw a bit of hope was portrayed, as the old couples may arise once again.
A cast promo from Season 1.
Trailers and sneak peeks of the next season have been completely unstoppable. Fans already know so much that it makes the wait for September become more and more unbearable. The new season will start off in the Hamptons. The new trailers make us wonder about our favorite characters. Has Serena really gotten over Dan? Has she hooked up with Nate during the summer? Is Dan with Vanessa now? Who’s the chick with Nate?
Well, I’ve got the scoop on Gossip Girl’s new season. (Beware: mild spoilers for early episodes of the season follow)
Blair and Marcus.
You know that Blair Waldorf went solo to Tuscany since Mr. Bass was a no-show, though she and the guy are rumored to have had a fling over there in Italy. Even if such a thing happened, Blair can’t take Chuck off her mind, no matter how much she says she has.
Apparently, there’s this new hot guy called Marcus (Patrick Heusinger). He was a featured character in the books, saying that he looked a lot like Nate and he was an English Lord. It is unknown if the comparisons stop or begin there. The new hottie is introduced to Blair by Ben, and by the looks of

it, she tries to make Chuck jealous.
Serena will hook up, or has hooked up, with Nate, Dan, and a lifeguard that has been drooling over her all summer. The thing is that the party-girl-turned-good-girl still ponders over her and Dan’s relationship. While there is still the maybe factor that he and Vanessa must have gotten back together, S is very unaware of this as she vacations off at the Hamptons. Talking about Serena, her little brother, Eric, will probably have another love interest.
Jenny
Dan will get a new mentor according to Matthew Settle who plays Rufus Humphrey. It is still unknown if he and Vanessa have gotten back together or together for the first time, for that matter. The only thing we do know is that he and Serena hooked up after their major break-up during the summer.
Little J got her offer with Waldorf designs, so this time she may be getting bullied by a Waldorf, though not Blair.
Vanessa and Nate
It seems that the WASP prince of the Upper East Side is hanging out with a lady cougar, or whatever that means. Nate Archibald has now “gotten over” Blair Waldorf, but not necessarily over Serena having hooked up with her during the summer. Now, he’ll try to hide the secret with the help of buddy Serena. When he gets back from the Hamptons he apparently has a little talk with his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa. Now isn’t everyone wondering what that’s all about?
Blair and Chuck
About Chuck…well, Chuck will be Chuck. His ways will remain the same way it ended on the season one finale. Of course, when he hears that Blair has gotten herself a new guy, Chuck can’t just stand there doing nothing. He takes immediate action and tries to seduce Blair. We all hope that the couple takes place once again, but it does seem impossible as actress Leighton Meester denied any love entanglements anytime soon.

Georgina
As for the witchy psycho, Georgina Sparks may come back to the show and scandalize the Upper East Side way more than she has already.
On August 4, a new web series will come. Tales of the Upper East Side will feature secondary characters, such as Penelope, Hazel, Isabel and Elise, solving scandalous “mysteries.” Part one is called “Sinning in the Rain,” and the rest of the episodes will be subsequently shown on the CW website every Monday until the premiere of the new season.
Things aren't looking too 'over' with Dan and Serena. Blake recently revealed that episode one ends with "fireworks".
The new season will have 24 episodes, but there is the sheer probability that production may be halted because of the Screen Actor’s Strike, just like the first season. The few episode names that have been revealed are:
2.01: Summer, Kind of Wonderful
2.02: Never Been Marcused
2.03: The Dark Night
2.04: The Ex-Files
2.05: The Serena Also Rises
Of course all the episode titles reference movies like John Hughes’ Some Kind of Wonderful and other films such as The Dark Knight, Never Been Kissed, and The X-Files.
The cast receive an award at the Teen Choice Awards 2008. "This is for anyone who has ever said 'OMG' in the real world," Penn proclaimed.
The very popular TV show recently won six Teen Choice Awards, including Breakout Show, Choice TV Drama, Breakout Female and Male, and TV villain.
Everyone must check out the Season 1 DVD that comes out August 19th nationwide. Purchase it from Amazon.com here!
