Hairtastic: Bang-On Bangs (Fringes)
By Vanessa (Age 13, New Zealand)

To quickly change the style of your hair, try cut a bang. It frames long faces, looks great on oval faces, and softens square and heart face shapes. Here are some popular bangs to get you inspired.

Long, side swept bangs

The bangs are combined into the bob, but they are still considered as a bang. You can see it is a little shorter than the bob.

Celebrities that sported side swept bangs: Nicole Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Jessica Simpson.

Heavy, brow-skimming bangs

I looked through some pictures of brow skimming bangs, and it looks like hairstylists tend to straighten the bangs and two thirds of your hair, and then curls the rest. (As pictured) Another trendy style is the Twiggy style-a straight short bob.

Celebrities that sported brow-skimming bangs: Mischa Barton, Hilary Duff, Keira Knightley.

Piece-y Bangs

These are not quite your average blunt bangs. As you can see, it’s sort of in pieces. These are very popular because it gives more edge to a blunt fringe.

Celebrities that sported piece-y bangs: Ashlee Simpson and Britney Spears.
