By Melissa (Age 25, USA) NOVEMBER There are some pretty bizarre holidays out in the world. Here’s just a few.
January 1st: First Foot Day (You know, as opposed to 2nd foot day.) ![]() January 7th: Old Rock Day (As in The Who but also possibly an ancient piece of granite.) January 8th: National Man Watcher’s Day (Because you all needed an excuse to gawk over Taylor Lautner) January 9th: Play God Day (Or just watch Bruce Almighty) January 10th: Peculiar People Day January 11th: National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day (I think this day is second in awesomeness only to the Festival of Sleep Day) January 12th: Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day (I’m really not sure what this day entails. I like the idea though.) January 13: Make Your Dream Come True Day January 14: National Dress Up Your Pet Day (Tutus are officially banned.) January 15th: Hat Day ![]() January 17th: Blessing of the Animals at the Cathedral Day. (I’m not sure if this is a specific cathedral or just whatever is most accessible.) January 18th: Winnie the Pooh Day ![]() January 20th: National Buttercrunch Day January 21st: National Hugging Day (Awww) January 22nd: Answer Your Cat’s Question Day (Oh they’ll ask. Don’t you worry about that.) January 23rd: Measure Your Feet Day January 24th: Eskimo Pie Patent Day (Because it has to be invented to be celebrated. I guess.) January 25th: Opposite Day January 26th: Australia Day (I called a few airlines but it seems they are not offering free flights to Australia in order to celebrate.) January 27th: Punch the Clock Day January 28th: Rattle Snake Round-Up Day (Unless you have a death wish, I don’t recommend celebrating this day.) January 29th: National Cornchip Day ![]() January 31st: Child Labor Day |
