Jensen Ackles was born on March 1st, 1978. He started out by appearing in guest roles on various TV shows in the late 90’s. His performance won him a Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer in 1998, and he later went on to be nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his work on the soap.
A couple of years later we saw Jensen return alongside Hollywood beauty Jessica Alba in the science fiction television show Dark Angel. Jensen played the role of Ben/X5-493, a psychopathic serial killer. When his character died, Jensen returned to the show in season two, to play twin brother Alec a human/animal hybrid super soldier also known as X5-494.
Although Jensen originally auditioned for the role of Clark Kent in Smallville (but sadly lost out to Tom Welling) he later became a regular in the show in 2004 as Jason Teague, the schools assistant football coach and a love interest for Lana Lang during the shows fourth season. Although Jensen received top billing for season four, but was written out of the show in the season's finale.
But it wouldn’t be long until Jensen fans got to see their man in action as they saw the return of Jensen to the CW channel as sarcastic but heroic Dean Winchester on the hit horror series Supernatural, he describes as a "an actual scary movie on every week". Jensen stars alongside Jared Padalecki, who plays his on screen brother Sam Winchester. Even though Jensen’s character is quite the sweet talker, things weren’t always so smooth for the 29 year old hottie “I was in preschool and a girl actually kissed me on the cheek. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what it meant, so I instantly grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips. And, then I got suspended.” You better believe the star has now learnt how to approach the ladies, Jensen who is rumoured to be dating his Ten Inch Hero co star Danneel Harris (aka Rachel from One Tree Hill) has had his share of attention from the opposite sex if his Supernatural character is anything to go by. Jensen has also had his fair share of embarrassing moments like the rest of us, "I was about 13 at the time, doing a photo shoot for a catalogue on the Southern Methodist University campus. The jeans were about three sizes too small, so they cut out the back and opened the leg---it looked fine from the front but the back was missing. Suddenly, the period bell rang, and the students flooded out of every building as I stood there with my rear end hanging out. It was not a fun moment!". The show follows the brothers as they travel across the country in a black 1967 Chevy Impala investigating and fighting supernatural events and other unexplained occurrences. The show gained huge success worldwide, which is why it was no surprise that the boys made it to number two in our annual top 30 stars under 30 after battling it out for the top spot against Instant Stars Alexz Johnson. The shows second season left viewers with the revelation of the Sam finding out about the deal Dean had made at the crossroads, and Sam, who is upset over the sacrifice Dean has made, promises to save him.
