Megan and Lindsay didn't just clash onscreen.

Her next role was in “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”. Megan has said that just as their characters didn’t get along, neither did the actresses. “Lindsay and I weren’t the best of friends. Because I looked older than her, she’d be nice to my face so I would buy her cigarettes.” Following her role in that movie, Megan had a role as Sydney on “Hope and Faith”. Megan was nominated for a Young Artist Award for the role but was trying to find movie roles saying “I have a really offbeat, weird, dark sense of humor. My sense of humor doesn’t really mesh well with sitcom television.”

She’s moving into a behind the scenes role by working at developing and adapting Michael Turner’s comic book “Fathom” into a motion picture. “Fathom” is Fox’s favorite comic, making this a project near and dear to her heart.

What makes Megan interesting though aren’t always her movies or even her pinup status on most guys’ walls. It’s her unfiltered outlook on life.

From her comments on comparisons to Angelina Jolie; "I think it’s a lack of creativity on the media’s part. Because I have tattoos and dark hair and I was in an action movie? That’s as far as the similarities extend. I’m not the next anyone." (Fox also commented that if she was Angelina Jolie, she’d be offended at being compared to herself). And that’s the least controversial. Other comments range from her openness to doing drugs (she says she wanted to make an informed decision), to wishing Megatron (villan robot in Transformers) would wipe out Middle America, as well as claiming that most actors are doing cocaine and other drugs.

“People who don't like me talk about it as though I'm trash because I have tattoos. I find that insane because it's 2008, not the 1950s. Tattoos aren't limited to sailors. It's a form of art I find beautiful. I love it.”
“I think people are born bisexual and the make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society. I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I’m also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who is bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I’d never sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.”
“I don’t want to have to be like a Scarlett Johansson – who I have nothing against, but I don’t want to have to go on talk shows and pull out every single SAT word I’ve every learned to prove, like, ‘Take me seriously, I am intelligent, I can speak.’ I don’t want to have to do that. I resent having to prove that I’m not a retard – but I do. And part of it is my own fault.”

Her views may be a little strange coming out of the mouth of a Hollywood star but they’re honest. (Although she admits sometimes its just sarcasm) In today’s world of political correctness it can be nice to hear a real opinion.

Megan has been voted the sexiest and most beautiful woman in many magazines including being named Sexiest Woman in the World in 2008. Her romantic life seems to be suffering though. The actress, who states that she is bisexual, has been in a relationship with Brian Austin Green but after she spent her 23rd birthday in Hawaii alone, Fox confirmed that the relationship was indeed over. Megan says she’s taking the time to be a single adult, dependent on herself, rather than anyone else. That image of pinup status isn’t bothering her yet. “I haven't given people a reason to take my work seriously yet, which is my responsibility to do," says Fox.

It’s that self-awareness that is likely to help her succeed in Hollywood. Fox recognizes that she has work to do before earning that respect. She has also argued that sexy status is not a degrading title at all and that women should embrace it. Unlike many similar starlets though, Megan argues that if you’re going to play the role of sexy star, you should have a brain before opening your mouth. Good advice.

Fox next plays Leila in “Jonah Hex” with Josh Brolin. This was a role that was supposed to be more substantial but has been cut to merely a cameo. It will be interesting to see the effect this has on the movie as Brolin isn’t the biggest draw.

She also plays Jennifer Check in “Jennifer’s Body”. Jennifer’s Body is the latest story from Diablo Cody (writer of Juno). The story goes that Jennifer was a girl sacrificed by Adam Brody’s band because they sold their souls to Satan for a record deal. The problem was they were supposed to sacrifice a virgin (they thought Jennifer was) and as she wasn’t she is a semi-zombie. To stay “undead” she has to feed on human flesh so she starts luring in the guys from her school and eating them. It sounds like a semi-cheesy horror movie but it will be interesting to see how Cody’s talented writing elevates the movie.
