Hear That? July Music Releases
By Melissa (Age 24, USA)
We’ve got some upcoming artists you’ll want to watch out for this month. Check back later for reviews of the albums.
July 7th:
All Time Low: Nothing Personal
The pop punk band who take their name from a line in a song by New Found Glory releases their 3rd album. While not a high selling band, All Time Low has gained an impressive following. One hopes this album continues their success.
___________
July 14th:
Daughtry: Leave This Town
The sophomore album from the 4th place finisher of season 5’s American Idol is highly anticipated. Daughtry’s first album did fantastically well and the entire band has been committed to insuring that this album rises above the previous standards. And as one of the few true rock albums to be released this summer, this should be another hit.
___________
July 21st:
Our Lady Peace: Burn
Our Lady Peace started working on their seventh album over 2 years ago. While the group gained critical acclaim with their first four albums, the last two were considered too mainstream by fans. The length of time spent on this album has fans hoping for a return to an older style.
___________
Jordin Sparks: Battlefield
The winner of American Idol season 6 releases her second album. The first was a fairly simple pop album. This one is supposed to have more dance tempos. While not the most complex of cds, Sparks fans should enjoy the album. Promoting it while on tour with the Jonas Brothers is bound to help.
___________
Demi Lovato: Here We Go Again
If Demi Lovato can make her fans as excited as she is about this album, it’s a guaranteed success. Described as a little rougher than her first album, Lovato is in the middle of a tour to promote the album as well. The first single, “Here we Go Again” is flying up the charts, promising a successful path for the album to follow in.
___________
July 28th:
Ashley Tisdale: Guilty Pleasure
The High School Musical star has been working at developing her movie career and now her music one should be truly taking off. Tisdale’s first album had decent success but this is a stronger pop/rock style, which should bring in stronger fans. The first single “It’s Alright, It’s Ok” fit’s the vein of Kelly Clarkson’s girl power break up anthems but Ashley sings it well. A good sign for the rest of the album.
