November 3rd: Glee: The Music, Volume 1
The cast of Glee releases the first soundtrack with songs from the new Fox hit. The cast’s cover of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing hit #1 on Itunes and rave reviews came for the second episode’s version of Golddigger and Take a Bow. If the first few songs are any indication this will be an amazing album.
The alt/rock group releases their latest album. The group has moved into a solid rock group in the last few years. This album should do fairly well.
The American Idol and country queen (we’ll give Princess to Taylor Swift) releases her third studio album. Cowboy Casanova, the first single has been released to radio play and is receiving phenomenal reviews. It seems Carrie Underwood is always a winner.
November 10th:
Michelle had fantastic success as both a soft rock artist and as part of a country duo. Her latest album brings her back as a solo artist and more mainstream. Michelle has assured fans that there are flavors of country to the album though. Definitely curious to see what she does next.
Jon Bon Jovi releases his latest album. Considering the man has sold over 120 million albums, there’s no doubt that this one will do well. The bigger reason to buy this particular album? Richie Sambora is back on this album. Lets face it, no one does stadium rock like Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Let’s rock!
November 17th: Leona Lewis: Echo
Simon Cowell’s prodigy blew listeners away with her debut album and the song Bleeding Love in particular. Early opinions of the album say she hasn’t branched out too much. But then, does Lewis really need to? Sometimes, there’s no reason to mess with a good thing.
A unique blend of jazz and pop brought this songbird into the public eye. The brilliant singer’s voice is one of the purest out there. This will be a perfect album for the holidays.
The latest American Idol winner has his chance to win over America again with his debut album. While the show focused more on Adam Lambert’s impressive vocals, Kris was winning hearts across the country. Going back over his songs from the show, there’s not a bad one among them. He just got outperformed, not outsung. I can’t wait to see what he does with this next album.
John Mayer has been collaborating with a number of up and coming young stars over the last few months. This new album includes a duet with Taylor Swift. Mayer has said this album is going in new directions, it will be curious to see if that translates to another hit.
November 24th: Adam Lambert: For Your Entertainment
American Idol’s most recent runner up took first place in public exposure and fame on the show. The rumors have ran from a solo career to taking the lead singer role with Queen. For now, we get a solo album, with glam rock, arena rock, well basically rock. Adam’s pipes can blow, lets see if he can blow us away again.
For a moment, the entire world was laughing at the 47 year old who had a dream of singing. Then she let the world hear her as she sang I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. And the world that had been laughing was in tears at the purity and beauty of a voice. We learned not to judge a book by its cover. Forget Christmas songs. This is the album for the holidays.
