December 1st:

Allison Iraheta:
Just Like You

The American Idol third place runner up had the pipes to go all the way. Allison is a little Kelly Clarkson, a little Janis Joplin and a whole lot of herself. Her first single is a rocking girl power song and early listenings of the album have earned rave reviews.

.

Alicia Keys:
The Element of Freedom

Alicia Keys claims this album is more organic and definitely a different sound. I’ve heard that from artists before and seen no change. Not that that’s a problem with Alicia. This should be a popular album regardless of how different it is from her usual styles.

December 8th:

30 Seconds to Mars:
This Is War

After extensive legal battles, 30 Seconds to Mars finally releases their 3rd album, four years after the last. The band included fans on this album holding an unique event (The Summit) in which they encouraged various crowd participation in different forms much of which is included on the record. The album is also being released with 2000 different covers, all designed and submitted by fans.

December 15th:

Lil Wayne:
Rebirth

Rebirth, Lil Wayne’s “rock” debut has continually been pushed back. His recent guilty plea for criminal possession of a weapon could cause the album to be pushed further back as he’s expected to spend a year in jail. Either way, its doubtful it will help sales.

December 22nd and 29th:

The rest of December has a few international releases of earlier albums (Lil Wayne and Alicia Keys). Otherwise it’s a slow music month.
