Myspace Act of the Week: Blaqk Audio
Sound is…
Members are… Blaqk Audio. You may not know the band, but chances are you know the members. Between 2001 and 2002 Jade Puget, known for his work as composer and guitarist for AFI, came up with the idea for a new style of music. He enlisted the help of Davey Havok, singer and lyricist of AFI, and Blaqk Audio was born. Featuring a mix of soft dark wave and club electronica, Puget’s melodies go perfectly with Havok’s soulful vocals, and combine to create instant classics, such as “The Love Letter” and “Bitter For Sweet”. Started only as a side project, Blaqk Audio quickly grew into an underground rock phenomenon, and their debut C.D, Cex Cells, peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Two of their songs were even featured in The Eye, a box-office busting movie. Although it has been only a year since the release of their C.D, Jade Puget has already composed over 35 songs, and promises that there will be a second album coming out sometime in the near future. Davey Havok and Jade Puget may be most known for being members of AFI, but they will go down in music history for their work as Blaqk Audio.
