MySpace Act of the Week: Dance Gavin Dance
Sound is...
Members are... “I’ve got lies to tell your children”. Probably not something that you ever want to be told, but it does make for a very interesting - if somewhat creepy chorus, that fits perfectly with Dance Gavin Dance’s innovative musical style. The ability to mix heavy metal, alternative, and pop-punk together is rare, but, when perfected, results in a unique sound that can only be described as Dance Gavin Dance. Dance Gavin Dance was formed through the combination of two bands; Farewell Unknown and Ghost Runner on Third. Although the mixing of different bands can often result in an odd mish-mash of sound, in Dance Gavin Dance the more hardcore style of one band fit perfectly with the softer, more lyrical style of the second. The result: a new breed of music that appeals to nearly everyone. With the release of their latest album, Happiness, and a summer that includes everything from a month of The Vans Warped Tour to concerts in places like Scotland and Germany, Dance Gavin Dance have a very busy year ahead of them. |
