Sweethead is the name of the new project that Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen has recently started. The band, named after a David Bowie b-side, are going to release their debut album on September 21,2009.
In May 2009, the band got the chance to play on Snow Patrol's Europe Tour as a special supporting guest. The vocalist, acting a bit too sexy on stage with her blonde hair, her tight leather hot pants and moaning into the microphone; turns out to be a girl with a very dark voice.
The music only sounds good when you listen to the recorded stuff. Even if the songs are great, her voice isn't so nice live at all.
Whatsoever, the band has released their first EP called "The Great Disruptors" on July 20th including the songs "The Great Disruptors", "Hardspun", "Arcane Arcade", "Traumatised and Dumb" and "Tired of Waiting for you".
The EP can be purchased through ITunes, Amazon, eMusic, etc. for only £4.98.
The two songs I memorized were "The Great Disruptors" and "Tired of Waiting for you" (which is available for free at Sweethead's website www.sweethead.net)

Check out their three songs "The Great Disruptors", "The Hardspun" and "We turned our backs" on their myspace. Maybe they're going to be as big as the Queens of the Stone Age were with their hit "No one knows".
