The Sequel is Matthew Bair, and I find it a miracle that he still isn‘t signed to a major record label, at least not according to his MySpace page. His music even appeared in a 2008 episode of One Tree Hill, which is usually the ticket to a singer’s success these days. Of course, according to his blog entries, a CD and tour are coming up, and he has been playing shows this year with the same band, so it is possible that he’s just been keeping all the behind the scenes info relatively quiet.

Matthew likes to play the club circuit and film acoustic performances in his living room, and he‘s got a great rock sound. A few of his newer songs are up on his MySpace, but he hasn’t been posting too many, wanting to keep people interested for the album’s release. My favorite of his songs (so far) would have to be “Make It Out Alive“ which you can see his acoustic rendition of in one of his living room performances on the same page.

Not only does he have a great sound, but he‘s a great writer. He writes his own songs, and he‘s collaborated with several well known singer/songwriters recently, including Emily Osment and Tom Higgenson (of The Plain White T‘s), as well as Miley Cyrus‘s ex Justin Gaston.

If his Myspace doesn‘t give you enough information on this talented musician, you can also follow him on twitter.
