Part Two: The Women of Tree Hill
By Angela Lee (Age 21, Australia)
Read part one of "One Tree Hill": Look at them now (The Scott Brothers) here
As One Tree Hill goes into its sixth season, our favourite characters have come such a long way since its humble beginnings. In the second part of our characters special, Portrait takes a look at how the women of One Tree Hill have evolved over these past six seasons, reminiscing at innocent teenagers they once were and marvelling at the women they have become.
Friends For Life - Peyton, Haley, and Brooke. |
Tortured Artist to Record Label CEO – Peyton Sawyer
Tortured Artist - Peyton Sawyer |
Ever since we’ve met her, Peyton Sawyer has never had exactly the easiest life. When she was a child her mother was killed in a car accident when a driver ran a red light. As Peyton became older, her dad was away from home a lot, working on boats, so it was no wonder that Peyton had a bit of a chip on her shoulder when we met the tortured and defensive artist in season one. Peyton’s family history became even more complicated when a woman, Ellie Harper, showed up at the end of season two, claiming to be her mother. In season three Peyton discovered that she was actually adopted and that Ellie was in fact her biological mother, who had given her up when
Peyton and birth mother Ellie. |
she was born because she was a former drug addict, used to living the life of a rock star groupie – not exactly the best environment to raise a baby in and Ellie wasn’t ready to give up her wild lifestyle just yet. 17 years later, she’s ready to make amends but Peyton had a hard time letting her in. It was only when Ellie revealed that she was dying from cancer that Peyton realised that she should make the most of the time they had left otherwise she’d regret it later on. Peyton was obviously distraught when Ellie died, but was at least grateful that they had developed a relationship in the little time that they had.
Yes, angsty Peyton was once a cheerleader - that's ironic. |
More twisted family tales came to haunt Peyton in season four, when Peyton discovered that she had a half brother named Derek. After some failed attempts to contact him, she finally found him, or so she thought. The person that she thought was her brother, was really a psychotic stalker obsessed with Peyton through her blog and podcasts, named Ian Banks. It was during a traumatic altercation, that Peyton met the real Derek, who arrived just in time to save the day. The real Derek is a US troop with the marines. While he only appeared briefly, he does return to the show briefly in season six. In season six, we also meet Peyton’s biological father – rockstar Mick Wolfe. Mick was never ready to be a father and while he may not be around for Peyton, she does at least have closure on that chapter of her life, having met him and seen what he’s like.
Peyton and Brooke have been best friends for many years and overcome many hurdles. |
Just like her actual life, Peyton’s love life has been pretty tumultuous as well. Peyton started off dating jerk Nathan, but realised that she was sick of being treated badly and broke up with him. During this time, she also felt a strong connection and attraction to Nathan’s then estranged half brother Lucas, but was too afraid to commit to him and soon he began dating her best friend Brooke. It wasn’t before long that Peyton realised that she had made a mistake in letting Lucas go and so she and Lucas began sneaking around behind Brooke’s back. Eventually the guilt-ridden pair was discovered by an understandably devastated and betrayed Brooke, and ruining the many year friendship that Peyton and Brooke shared.
 Peyton and Jake. |
Realising just how badly she had screwed up. Peyton decided that she had hurt her best friend enough as it was and was too guilt ridden to continue to be with Lucas, and so they split up. It would be awhile until Brooke would forgive Peyton, and so Peyton began to form a friendship with Jake Jygalski – fellow classmate and single father to baby Jenny. Just when Peyton began to fall for Jake, he had to leave town with Jenny when Jenny’s birth mom, the manipulative Nikki, arrived in town. Ironically, it was the manipulative Nikki that brought Peyton and Brooke back together and allowed them to mend their broken friendship and put the Lucas saga behind them.
Peyton had a brief flirtation with Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy.. |
Mid season two, Jake returned with Jenny. It was perfect timing when Jake re-appeared as Peyton was going through a dark time, and Jake ultimately saved her. It wasn’t long before the pair started dating and all was well for awhile until Nikki returned and a nasty custody battle ensured. Jake once again went on the run, leaving a heart broken Peyton behind. Season three saw a content and single Peyton Sawyer, or at least for two-thirds of the season. There was a brief flirtation with Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, closure with Jake, who was now living in Savannah, and then towards the end of season three Peyton realised that she was still in love with Lucas, who was once again dating Brooke. Peyton admitted this to Brooke who was furious and thus their friendship in tatters once again at the start of
Music has always provided solace for Peyton. |
season four. Yet Brooke broke up with Lucas too, but still wanted nothing to do with her former best friend. It would still be awhile until Peyton and Lucas would get back together because he was too heartbroken over Brooke. Ironically, it was Brooke that made Lucas realise that it was Peyton that he truly loved after all. After a near fatal accident involving Haley and Lucas, Brooke realised that life was too short and so she let Peyton back in and the two began to rebuild their friendship. Their newly friendship was put to the test mid season four though, when a past sex tape revealed that Brooke slept with Nathan while he was still dating Peyton. Peyton was furious at how hypocritical Brooke was, but the two overcame the drama when Brooke attempted to rescue Peyton from Psycho fake Derek who had kidnapped Peyton on prom night.
From the start of the show, we always knew Peyton and Lucas were meant to be. |
Lucas and Peyton’s relationship was going steady and strong for the latter half of season four, right through to graduation. Yet five years later in season five’s flash forward, Lucas and Peyton are no longer together. It turns out that he proposed three years ago and Peyton wasn’t ready and so they went their separate ways and he eventually moved onto his book editor, Lindsay Strauss. Despite the old feelings stirred up between Lucas and Peyton when returned to Tree Hill, Lucas was still hurt by Peyton not saying yes and proposed to Lindsay despite still having feelings for Peyton. Lindsay was no fool and realised this and left Lucas at the altar at their wedding. But it would be some time before Lucas and Peyton reunited. Lucas was heartbroken over Lindsay and even blamed Peyton. After a temporary downward spiral, Lucas got his act together and in the season five finale, asked Peyton to meet him at the airport and fly with him to Las Vegas and get married. She accepted, but they decided not to marry in Vegas and instead return home to Tree Hill. Currently they are happily engaged and are living together at Lucas’s house.
Peyton's certainly come along way. |
With the dramatic life she’s led, Peyton has channelled her life experiences and put them to good use through creative means. When we first meet Peyton, the tortured and defensive artist found solace from the hardships in life through her website and webcam ‘Punk N Disorderly’, her drawings, and her love of alternative music. In season two, Peyton’s creative outlet expanded when she went into business with Karen, who had just started a new club. Karen allowed Peyton to host occasional all-age music gigs at the club ‘Tric’, where the likes of Jimmy Eat World, The Wreckers, Chris Keller (Tyler Hilton) and Fall Out Boy, all played on one occasion throughout seasons two and three. Peyton also put together a compilation CD, featuring big name artists such as Jack’s Mannequin, with proceeds going towards Breast Cancer Research Foundations. She also organised a benefit concert to go along with the CD, where the likes of Fall Out Boy and Tree Hill’s own Haley James Scott performed.
 Peyton and Mia |
In the flash forward in season five, we briefly see Peyton working in LA as an assistant to the assistant in a big music company. Realising that she’s gone against her own beliefs, Peyton quits and returns to Tree Hill and forms her own independent music record label. Her first client was Kevin Federline’s character’s band, but then she realised that the real talent was in the shy keyboardist of the band – Mia Catalano. Peyton soon had Mia coming out of her quiet shell and pretty soon turned Mia into a big superstar who is now touring around the country. Mid season five, Peyton signed another artist to her label – Haley James Scott, and everyone is eagerly awaiting her comeback release.
Tutor Girl to Teacher Mom – Haley James Scott
 Haley James Scott |
She started off as the quirky and individual tutor girl and Lucas’s best friend. She also worked at Karen’s Cafe, run by Lucas’s mom. She was just another face at Tree Hill High, until school stud Nathan Scott took notice of her. It was intended as revenge against Lucas, but ended up developing into something more, when Nathan began falling for the kind hearted tutor. Haley also fell for Nathan – but not before a few tears and misunderstandings – and turned him into a better person. Haley also got sucked into the life of the popular elite, becoming friends with Peyton and eventually cheerleader Brooke Davis. Haley’s relationship with Nathan did cause tension with her own relationship with Lucas, who disapproved, but Lucas eventually came around when he realised what a positive influence Haley had become on Nathan.
Haley inspired Nathan to become a better man. |
But it wasn’t just Haley influencing Nathan. In turn, Nathan brought out a different side to Haley – a more impulsive and adventurous side. He also encouraged Haley to share her musical talents with him. It may have been a private showing at Karen’s Cafe after closing just for Nathan’s eyes and ears only, but viewers knew that there would be more to come eventually. Dating Nathan meant that Haley was increasingly being drawn into his world – she even got involved in cheerleading for the Sparkle Classics to help Brooke and Peyton out. As well as become even more embroiled in his world, Haley was falling harder for Nathan and got this jersey number ‘23’ tattooed on her back.
Best Friends - Haley has stuck by best friend Lucas through thick and thin. |
But Haley’s a smart girl with her beliefs and although Nathan was not pressuring her, Haley became insecure about her and Nathan’s (non-existent) sexual relationship which erupted into a fight that ended with a reunion in the pouring rain and a marriage proposal. While drying off inside, Nathan proposed and after realising that he was actually serious, Haley accepted and they eloped after the losing playoff game.
In season two, news of Haley and Nathan’s marriage quickly spread but not everyone was happy for them – welcome to the realities of married life. Season two saw not only Haley and Nathan adjusting to married life, but also the formation of Haley’s music career. It started
Chris Keller stirred up a lot of trouble in Nathan and Haley's marriage. |
with Nathan buying Haley a keyboard, developed into a nerve-wracking and panic induced performance and Tric, and then turned into working with the shifty Chris Keller in a recording studio. The wedding bliss was over and reality had set it. Haley and Nathan began fighting, and Haley was tempted by Chris and what he had to offer her when he went on tour. Haley did turn him down (after they kissed) and he disappeared for awhile, yet things were still rocky between Haley and Nathan, especially when Haley’s troublemaker sister Taylor, came into town. It didn’t help that Taylor and Nathan were involved in the past as well. Things slightly picked up but then Chris Keller was back in town, supporting the Wreckers when they played at Tric.
At first Haley was shy at revealing her music to the world... |
Chris made a proposition for Haley to join them on tour, along with Gavin DeGraw, and this time Haley knew that it was too much of an opportunity to pass up. She said yes and Nathan walked out when she told him. While on tour, Haley tried to make amends with Nathan, but he was hell bent on self destructing. After an epiphany, Nathan did come and visit Haley while she was on tour but quickly left again after realising they were heading in separate directions in life. While Haley was still on tour, Nathan was involved in a near fatal accident but told her not to come back home when she found out. It was time for them to be away from each other and pursue their own dreams.
...but soon she was a renowned rockstar. |
Nathan’s father, the duplicitous Dan Scott, then showed up at a stop on Haley’s tour with annulment papers. Morose at everything that she has seemingly lost, Haley eventually returned home and showed up at Nathan’s doorstep in the closing moments of season two.
If Haley thought coming back home would make everything okay again, she had another thing coming. Season three was about Haley earning back trust, especially the trust of Nathan’s. Good friend, Peyton Sawyer, was also mad at Haley and was cold to Haley for quite some time. Fellow classmates also gave Haley a hard time at school too. At least Haley still had her best friend Lucas, and also roommate Brooke, who was now living in Haley and Nathan’s old apartment and allowed Haley to move in with her.
Nathan and Haley at their wedding reception. |
It was a slow road to rebuilding for Haley and Nathan, but Haley knew where her priorities laid and was patient in earning back Nathan’s trust. It paid off and they became closer. A school shooting propelled them to realise what’s important and that life was too short. The pair reunited for good and soon after Nathan proposed again and the pair remarried in front of family and friends in the season three finale. But happiness seems to be a fleeting thing in Tree Hill. On route to the airport to go to London for the honeymoon they never had, Nathan and Haley witnessed the limo that Nathan’s Uncle Cooper and bad girl Rachel Gatinna were in, veer off a bridge and plunge into the river below. An impulsive Nathan jumped in after them to try and rescue them, leaving a devastated Haley screaming and crying for her husband above the bridge in the closing moments of season three.
Although scary at first, being preganant with Jamie brough such joy to Haley's life. |
Viewers were relieved to see Nathan had survived the accident when season four started back up again, but the accident still left repercussions. Nathan was suffering from psychological trauma from the accident and a twisted and grateful Rachel began hitting on Nathan. And just when it seemed like Haley and Nathan’s lives were getting back to normal again, Haley realised that she was pregnant, leaving the couple with an uncertain future. Recovering from his initial shock at the news, Nathan then began to worry about providing for his family’s future. He misguidedly made a deal with the shifty Dante, who offered to “help” Nathan out. Nathan soon came to his senses and tried to cut ties with Dante. But Dante was the type of person who liked to get what he wanted and in revenge tried to run Nathan over, but instead hit a pregnant Haley. It was touch and go with Haley for awhile, but she awoke from her coma with no long term injuries apart from walking on crutches and Haley and Nathan’s unborn son survived too. A guilt ridden Nathan confessed to

Haley his involvement in her accident, and while she was mad at him, she came around and forgave her misguided husband.
So all was going good and well with Haley and Nathan. Rachel was still annoying Haley per usual, but Haley did get her revenge on Rachel at a party one night. It was also at this party that Haley and Nathan’s relationship was tested when an old video tape featuring Brooke and Nathan emerged. Hurt as first, Haley realised that while her husband had a colourful past, she was his future that was all that mattered. Just in time for prom, Haley got her leg brace off and the pair looked happily towards prom.
The Scott family have been through a lot and stuck together through thick and thin. |
Haley and Nathan’s relationship was going well, but their lives did get complicated when Nathan’s dealings with Dante emerged and Nathan’s scholarship and reputation was tarnished. But Haley stood by her husband and supported him, and they looked towards graduation. Haley was valedictorian at graduation, and midway through her speech, her water broke and she soon gave birth to a healthy baby boy – James Lucas Scott, and named Brooke and Lucas as James’s – or Jamie as he would come to be known as – godparents.
Fast forward to five years later and Haley is about to start her career as the new English Literature teacher at Tree Hill High. With a career, great friends, and a family, it may seem that Haley has it all, but appearances can be deceiving. Four year old son Jamie is the light of Haley’s life, and Haley is doing her best to protect him from a dark and bitter Nathan. A bar fight saw the end of Nathan’s basketball career and left him confined to a wheelchair. Angry and bitter at the world, Nathan lashes out at those closest to them and turns to drinking to “ease” the pain. It would be awhile until Nathan snaps out of his drunken and bitter stupor, but when he realised how much he was letting his son down, it propelled him to turn his life back around and make amends with his loved ones.
Who would have thought Tutor Girl Haley and Party Girl Brooke would end up best friends |
As well as dealing with Nathan’s problems at home, Haley also had problems at school in the form of a troubled student named Quentin Fields. Perhaps it was because it was a stark reminder of what Nathan was like in high school before she changed him, Haley developed a soft spot for Quentin and felt compelled to help out the troubled teenager and get him back on track with his schooling. It was difficult at first, but arrogant teenagers seem to be Haley’s specialty and she made an impact on Quentin.
Back at home, Haley and Nathan seemed to be rebuilding their troubled marriage and all seemed to be going well until Haley hired a Nanny to help look after Jamie while she was at work. Unbeknownst to Haley, Nanny Carrie began inappropriately flirting with Nathan and when she finally made a move, Haley caught the two in a compromising position and kicked Nathan out of the house. During their separation, Nathan pleaded with his wife but she was understandably

hurt and confused. One night while Haley and Nathan were having an argument inside, Jamie fell into the family pool and nearly drowned. A shaken Haley demanded a divorce in the heat of the moment. The threat didn’t stick for very long, when a crazed Carrie kidnapped Jamie on Lucas’s wedding day, bringing Haley and Nathan back together. Once Jamie was returned safely, Haley and Nathan sought to repair their marriage through counselling.
Interestingly, it was Nathan’s father, the duplicitous Dan Scott that rescued Jamie from Carrie. Since he was released from jail, Haley and Nathan did not want Dan to have anything to do with their son, but since being rescued by him, young Jamie has become quite attached to his grandpa Dan, and so Haley has been torn between her son’s happiness and her son’s wellbeing.
After all these years, Nathan and Haley are still going strong. |
Apart from performing at Peyton’s benefit concert mid-season three, we hadn’t seen Haley return to the music world since she returned from tour in season two. Now that her son was much older and everything was falling back into place with Nathan, Haley began to realise how much she missed music. When good friend Peyton, started up her own music label in Tree Hill and asked Haley to help produce her first client Mia Catalano, the desire became stronger, and although hesitant, Haley realised that it was time to pursue that dream again. Into the later half of season five, Haley went back into the studio and in season six, we see her struggle to not only record a new record, but also to reconnect with music the way she used to. But it’s Haley and she’s a rock star, so there’s doubt that she’ll find her way once again.
Friend, teacher, singer, wife, and mother - Haley with son Jamie. |
While Haley has been finding her way with her music, Nathan has also been finding his way back to basketball. Although concerned with his health, Haley knows how much it means to her husband and continues to support him. She was also continuing to support Quentin, who had quite impressively managed to turn his life around, and also became very close to Jamie. Sadly, Quentin was tragically killed in the early episodes of season six and the repercussions of the tragedy were evident on Haley and her friends and family. Ironically, it was just after Quentin’s death, that Haley met another troubled teenager in her class – Samantha, and Haley’s compassion and good heart compelled her to help the troubled teenager out too.
Party Girl to Fashion Entrepreneur - Brooke Davis
Brooke Davis - Strong and Independent |
Promiscuous and unafraid to go after what she wants, Brooke Davis started off as the ultimate spoilt and wealthy princess, always up for a good time. We saw a softer side to the cheerleading captain, when she not only fell for Lucas Scott, but also got her heartbroken by him when he betrayed her with her best friend Peyton. Such betrayal made Brooke tougher and also a lot more defensive, as we saw in season two when she struggled to not only let Lucas back in her life, but also new guy in town, Felix Tarago. Her friendship with Peyton didn’t go without consequences either. It would take a while for Brooke to forgive her lifelong best friend, but she eventually did, and also found a new friend in the shy and nerdy Marvin ‘Mouth’ McFadden.
Former party girl - Brooke came to realise that there was more to life than money, parties, and boys. |
In season two, we saw that Brooke Davis was more than a pretty face and party girl, as she struggled to find herself beyond what she had already been labelled as – spoilt rich cheerleader. For starters, her father went bankrupt, leaving Brooke and her family poor and Brooke learning to adjust to a less extravagant lifestyle. Brooke also ran for student council, and showed that she had the smarts to become junior class president, while still staying true to herself.
She also began dating Felix, after a rocky start, and also became closer friends to Mouth. She also tentatively started a friendship with Lucas, which became even stronger when she moved into his house to live with his mum while he was living with his dad, after Brooke’s parents moved out of town when Brooke’s dad was offered a job. Unbeknownst to Brooke, Lucas had also realised what a fool he was to hurt Brooke and was still in love with her. He confessed his love for her in the season two finale, just as she was living town for the summer to visit her parents.
Brooke was understandably hurt after Peyton and Lucas's betrayal. |
When One Tree Hill returned for a third season, we saw Brooke become even more independent when she moved into Nathan and Haley’s old apartment (but then invited Haley to move back in and be her roommate), but also start working in the local clothing store ‘Suburban Filth’ and begin making her own designs. She also started an open and no strings attached relationship with Lucas, who was determined to win her back. But Brooke’s high in life, was then threatened by the arrival of frenemy and new girl in town – Rachel Gattina. Not only did Rachel try and lure Brooke’s friends and cheer squad away, she also made moves on Lucas, leaving Brooke infuriated. Lucas was determined to win Brooke back in an exclusive relationship, but Brooke wouldn’t budge, quietly enjoying the thrill of the chase.
Brooke and Lucas - From Lovers to Friends |
Then one drunken mistake and night with the sleazy Chris Keller, sent Brooke’s world unravelling. First Lucas wanted nothing to do with her, then Brooke realised that Suburban Filth had taken advantage of her and her designs, and after she stole them back, she ended up with a quick stint in jail. Luckily the thing about life is that once you go down, the only way back is up again. And soon Brooke and Lucas reunited and Brooke launched her own fashion line ‘Clothes over Bros’, which led to Brooke partaking in a fashion show with her designs. While away from her friends at the fashion show, Brooke realised that what she wanted right now in life was to be young and enjoy the remainder of her teenage years – her fashion career could wait a little while longer.
Fashion Entrepreneur - Brooke Davis |
So with great friends, a loving boyfriend, and being a high school senior – life was pretty for Brooke Davis. But this is Tree Hill and happiness is fleeting. Lucas’s Uncle Keith was shot in a school shooting and once again life came to a standstill. Nathan and Haley reunited for good and Brooke offered them the apartment back and moved back in with Peyton, Brooke and Lucas began to drift apart, and then Brooke and Peyton’s friendship was left in tatters once again when Peyton admitted that she was still in love with Lucas even though he was Brooke’s boyfriend. Season three ended with Brooke in tears.
Brooke and Frenenmy Rachel Gattina. |
At the start of season four, Brooke broke up with Lucas, realising that he’ll never love her the way she loves him. With her friendship with Peyton destroyed, Brooke moved in with Rachel. Brooke also had a brief fling with substitute teacher, Nick Chavez, but broke up with him after she caught him cheating on her. Brooke still continued to have success with Clothes Over Bros. She also began to rebuild her friendship with Lucas. It would still be a little bit longer before she and Peyton would be friends again, but they tentatively began to rebuild their friendship after Haley and Lucas were involved in near fatal accidents. Brooke also encouraged Lucas to go back to Peyton.
 Brooke and Chase |
With a lot of her friends happily paired off, Brooke soon found love when new guy Chase Adams arrived in town. There was something about Chase that made me Brooke fall for this guy in a way different to before. In an effort to win his interests, Brooke started to become someone that she wasn’t. She joined the Clean Teens group at school, and stole a maths test with Rachel to show Chase that she was smart. Chase found out that Brooke was pretending to be someone that she wasn’t and wasn’t very impressed, but revealed that what he really wanted was to get to know the real Brooke Davis.
Dreams don't always equate to true happiness. |
So all was well once again, until an old video tape featuring Brooke and Nathan was leaked at a party. Chase broke up with her and Peyton was furious since she and Nathan were still together at the time of the video. When Brooke risked her life on prom night to try and rescue from the clutches of psycho stalker Ian Banks, aka fake Derek, it was then that she and Peyton made up. Then Principal Turner threatened to stop from graduating when he found out about the stolen test, but in the end she won him over and she was able to graduate with all her friends. She also reunited with Chase.
Season five’s flash forward saw Brooke turn Clothes over Bros into a multimillion enterprise. Brooke had achieved her dream, yet still felt something was missing. To cure her loneliness, she returned to Tree Hill to be closer to her friends and godson Jamie. Against her mother Victoria’s wishes, she opened up a Clothes Over Bros boutique in Tree Hill and bought a house for her and Peyton to live in. Brooke also employed her loyal assistant Millicent, to work with her in Tree Hill. While in Tree Hill, Brooke then met mysterious bartender Owen and begun a flirtation with him.
 Brooke and Owen |
 Brooke and Angie. |
The point of returning to Tree Hill was to figure out what was missing in her life. After spending so much time with her godson Jamie, Brooke realised that the answer lied in having a child. Brooke came to this conclusion just as she and Owen were starting to become serious, and he freaked out and left. Deciding that timing wasn’t right to have a child of her own, Brooke then decided to look into adopting. While the adoption social workers frowned upon Brooke being a single young working woman, they did allow her to look after Angie temporarily - a baby from an overseas country who was in America to have life-saving surgery. Looking after Angie as if she were her own, made Brooke happy and so she was devastated when it was time to hand Angie back at the end of season five.
 Clashing with Mother, Victoria. |
Season six saw Brooke trying to deal with the loss of Angie. She was also involved in a power struggle with her cold mother over Clothes Over Bros. Refusing to give in to her mother, Brooke vowed not to let her mother win. Sadly, one night while locking up the store, Brooke was viciously attacked and robber by an unknown assailant. Although visibly shaken, Brooke refused to report the incident to authorities, believing that her mother had set it up. She decided that the company wasn’t worth all of this, and signed the Clothes Over Bros to her mother. Brooke was now in a dark place and struggled to overcome the attack on her own. She refused to let her friends in and lied to them about what had happened. Consumed with their own dramas, her friends did not realise that Brooke was lying to them and she continued to suffer on her own. It was sometime before Brooke confided in best friend Peyton, and by then Brooke was starting to heal.
Brooke and Lucas remain good friends. |
After being fired by Victoria, Millicent who had left town to be Mouth, returned to support Brooke. With no company to take care of and keep her busy, Brooke had no idea what she was going to do. Millicent encouraged Brooke to use this time to do things for herself for once, to do all the things that she had wanted to do while running Clothes Over Bros, but had been too busy to do. The first step to this was adopting a child.
Brooke and Godson Jamie are very close. |
Prior to the robbery, a wayward teenager attempted to shoplift from Brooke’s store. Brooke’s friend Haley discovered that the wayward teenager was a student of hers and was homeless after running away from her foster home. Haley asked Brooke to take in Samantha, the troubled teenager. Fostering a difficult 15 year old teenage girl was not what Brooke had in mind when she was looking to adopt a child. But after seeing a lot of her teenage self in Samantha, Brooke took her in. Taking in Sam, isn’t without its dramas. One night Sam stole Brooke’s ID and went to a bar; she was caught and brought home by Brooke’s ex Owen. Surprised to see Brooke, Owen was sorry about the way their relationship ended and wanted to make amends. But Brooke isn’t the type to forgive and forget, so it looks like Owen has some serious grovelling to do if he wants another shot with Brooke. Only time will tell if he is successful or not...
