Portrait's cover girl Scarlett Johannson has signed to yet another film. She will star in Nolan's The Prestige alongside Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine and David Bowie. Bale and Jackman will play rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. The title refers to the residue left after a magician's successful trick.
Jim Cavaziel has signed to play a terrorist in the upcoming film Deja Vu. The drama stars Denzel Washington as an FBI agent who, upon discovering that a woman he loves was among the victims, travels back in time.
Will Smith will star in Tonight, He Comes. Smith will play a disaffected and underappreciated superhero in a mid-life crisis. The film is expected to start filming this summer.
Reese Witherspoon will star in a currently untitled drama about a first-time mother so plagued by unexplained phenomena that she doubts her own sanity. When she returns to her Tennessee home, she fixates on the legend of the Bell Witch and becomes convinced the evil spirit is intent on harming her son.
Paul Walker has joined Anthony Hopkins in the Ernest Hemingway project Papa. "We sat down a while ago, I read the script and it's actually a true story – I love true stories, especially when they're as compelling as this one," Walker told Empire Online. "This guy was born in an orphanage and taught himself how to read and write by copying Ernest Hemingway's work word for word, comma by comma. He escaped from his orphanage, ran away, and wanted to work for a major newspaper."
