Aquamarine Trailer
View: Here!

The film is Aquamarine, a 'fish out of water comedy' about two best friends Claire (Emma Roberts) and Hailey (Jojo) who discover a mermaid, aquamarine (Sara Paxton), in their beach club's swimming pool. Aquamarine at the age of 18 finds herself entering an arranged marriage but first she's been given the opportunity to travel to the human world and prove to her father that real love exists, thus freeing her from her marriage. She offers Claire and Hailey a wish in exchange for helping her; their wish being that Hailey and her Mother won't have to move away at the end of the summer. The film 'swims' into theatres March 3rd!

"What's great about the movie is its message that love and friendship are important" Says Jojo regarding the film, "Aqua doesn't have love where she's from and wants to see if it exists"

Jojo

At the age of fifteen Jojo has already carved out an amazing career for herself. With the release of her debut album self-titled album in 2004 she made history becoming the youngest girl ever to have a number one single. The song was 'Leave (Get out)' and Jojo was just thirteen at the time. This month heralds the release of Jojo's first two feature film 'Aquamarine' and next month the family comedy 'R.V' with Robin Williams. "I've already learned so much from working with Robin. He's given me some great advice, and he's just a great person. I'm very inspired by working with him. "The best thing is, Robin's just like a normal guy. He took [the cast] out to the movies, and he takes us out for breakfast or shopping. He just really cares about everyone he works with, both the cast and crew, and I really feel like we've all become a family."

Jojo and Emma Roberts
Became good friends while
filming Aquamarine

Jojo said about her character in Aquamarine: "She's very insecure, so she releases that by cussing and wearing baggy clothes and pulling her hair back and being ready to fight anybody. But it's really about the two of them, two best friends, trying to stay together. [My character] is moving away because my mom got a job so I need to move with her. It's a real coming-of-age movie. And it's going to be beautiful and fantastical too." Though she's the first to admit that filming the movie was a lot of work "I thought shooting a music video was long, No. Shooting a movie for two and a half months? That's long."

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts, famously known as the niece of Oscar winner Julia Roberts and star of the hit Nickelodean show 'Unfabulous' has numerous feature films in the works, but 'AquaMarine' is her first starring role. At the age of 15 she has to date starred in two seasons of 'Unfabulous', released a soundtrack style album from the show entitled 'Unfabulous and More' and even worked with Johnny Depp.

Emma had a hard time relating to her character in Aquamarine "Claire is different then me, she's afraid of everything" however she loved filming in Australia "I've always wanted to go there" She said, "[Driving] on the left was weird. My mom freaked out."

Emma Roberts

She is currently filming a new movie based on the hit book series Nancy Drew entitled 'Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills' in which Emma plays Nancy. "We started filming a couple of weeks ago and we're having a great time, They're trying to keep her character the same, but they wanna put her in modern-day L.A. and see how she can adapt. ... She does a lot of stunts actually. Everybody is so surprised to hear that. They don't think so, but I have a stunt double and she climbs on roofs, goes down scaffolding, car chases ... crazy stuff."

Sara Paxton

Sara Paxton is perhaps the lesser known of these three young stars though her filmography is definitely the biggest, she's also the oldest and will celebrate her 18th birthday in April. Shes' known for her tv show 'Darcy's Wild life', her role in the teen film 'Sleepover', including numerous guest spots on shows such as Summerland, Malcolm in the Middle, Spongebob Squarepants, CSI, CSI: Miami, Will and Grace, and Passions, however acting isn't her only ability. She has a song 'Connected' on the Aquamarine Soundtrack that is also the feature song in the films trailer, a song on the soundtrack of Darcy's Wild Life: 'Talk A Walk' and she's also covering the song 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' from the Lion King on the upcoming Disney Mania 4 CD.

Playing a mermaid in Aquamarine was certainly an experience for Sara "The first time I actually wore the tail, it was really weird, 'cause the tail's like 100 pounds or something, really heavy," Paxton said in a recent interview for MTV. "So, five guys on a stretcher had to carry me everywhere. When I was in the full outfit for the first time and they brought me out on the stretcher, I felt like a princess. Everyone was clapping for me, and I raised a hand in the air and everyone's like 'Whoo hoo!' and then they threw me in the pool like a fish."
