Written by Katie Bockino 1. Romeo and Juliet- Yes, the 1968 version. While I love me some Leo, (uh, who doesn’t?) the acting in this version is much more authentic in my opinion. The actors truly mastered Shakespeare’s words, to make it sound just so natural. This kiss here, when Romeo and Juliet first meet, is so perfect in everyway. We know they are to die, but right now, there is nothing but hope for these two youths. 2. Gone With The Wind - Oh Scarlett and Rhett, why do you two torture me so? Besides being one of the most romantic movies of all time, this kiss is so beautiful, that it simply makes my heart swoon! After escaping Atlanta, Rhett stops their wagon to tell Scarlett that he is going to leave her to join the confederate army. No Rhett no! 3. The Princess Bride - I remember I saw this movie when I was much younger, and didn’t fully understand Westley and Buttercup’s love. I adored this movie because I thought it was funny and liked the action scenes. But the, “love story” part? Went over my head. Rewatching it, I now just wish I could find a Westley of mine own! In this scene, Buttercup has just realized that the masked man is Westley, and that he didn’t die after all. 4. Spiderman - I have always found the rain romantic. When it’s storming outside, and lightning is flashing everywhere, doesn’t all of your senses feel heightened? Doesn’t everything seem more dark and mystical? The upside down kiss here is so famous, that I’m positive you all know of it. 5. Breakfast at Tiffany’s - Did I mention how much I love rain scenes? My favorite moment in this movie is this scene. Paul just told Holly he wants to be with her, and, being scared of love, she rejects him. When she pushes Cat out of the taxi, my heart breaks every time! But don’t give up hope! True love always prevails, just watch. 6. The Notebook - Oops, another rain scene. But come on, is this one amazing or what? They are so perfect for each other! I love the dramatic quality behind this moment, and how they simply just can’t resist each other anymore. I always get chills when I watch this. Always. 7. From Here to Eternity - Okay, I’m guessing even if you’ve never watched this movie, you know something about this kiss. It’s a classic moment in movie history. The way the waves are crashing, and the music is flowing, it makes you feel as if you’re really there on the beach. And, come on, now that’s a kiss guys!
8. Sixteen Candles - Oh Molly, how you made such cute movies back in the 80’s. I saw this movie for the first time when I was 16. It just makes you feel as if everything is possible, and that if you hope and dream enough, it all will be okay. I couldn’t find a video for this one (sigh) but the moment we all know is in the end, when they kiss over her cake. So cute! 9. Pretty Woman - Perfect. Pair. Ever. Love, love, love this movie. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere’s chemistry is just amazing here. And what I love (have I said that word enough?) the most, is when she says, “She rescues him right back.” So true. They both saved each other, in more ways than one. 10. Titanic - Finally! The last, and maybe best (?), kiss. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like this movie. However, it’s not a film you can watch everyday. First, because it’s so long. Second, because it just drains you. Whenever I watch it, I just want to curl up in a ball with some ice cream. Jack and Rose are just so…so…here come the tears! You watch this, knowing the end, but desperately hold on to that ray of hope that maybe since the last time you saw it, somehow the ending is different.
