Christina’s come a long way since her commercial debut into the music world way back in 1999. She’s transformed from the pop princess on her self titled first album to the sassy and assertive feminist on her next album “Stripped”. Now on her latest album “Back to Basics”, Christina shows us yet another side of her with blues, soul and jazz inspired songs, giving them a contemporary vibe and making these old school genres cool again. It’s her truthfulness and constant metamorphosis that keeps fans coming back for more. What’s Next: There’s talk that Christina will be releasing her own perfume. Otherwise fans in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, can catch Christina on tour during the next two months.

At just 13 years of age, AnnaSophia has accomplished more than most people twice her age (and quite possibly triple her age) have! The star of “Bridge to Terrabithia” and “The Reaping” is not only a talented actress but also works with animals. Even before she was discovered, AnnaSophia was destined to be a star – she competed in gymnastics since the age of 5, won awards for Irish dancing as early as the age of 7 and can also do jazz, hip-hop, and break-dancing. She was also doing radio voice-overs at the age of 8, before breaking into modelling. Is there anything that this girl can’t do? What’s Next: AnnaSophia sure has kept herself busy! You can look forward to seeing more of her on the big screen in any of the following films in upcoming months – “Have Dreams, Will Travel”, “Ferris Wheel” (which is said to be renamed “Sleepwalking”), “Doubting Thomas”, and “Jumper”.

She had us in stiches in the TV show “That’s So Raven” and could be considered a veteran of TV sitcoms having starred in other comedies such as “The Cosby Show” and “Hanging With Mr Cooper” at such a young age. This enthusiastic and driven young lady then tried her hand at a singing career as well! “I think that I do have people that look up to me and watch me on television and see every step that I make. I think it’s fabulous and I love it and that’s what drives me!” Raven declares. What’s Next: Two brand new movies "College Road Trip" with Martin Lawrence which starts filming July 7th. Her 4th album will drop fall 2007. She will also star in a remake of the 1987 film "Adventures & Babysitting" alongside MileyCyrus (Hannah Montana) Which will start filming at the end of the year.

Also on last years list, we dubbed these guys “The New Olsen Twins”. From getting their start at a young age just like the Olsen girls to launching their own product line, the young stars of “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody” look set to not only follow in the girls’ footsteps but also succeed! But these busy guys can be normal too! Like most young boys their age, Dylan and Cole like to get up to innocent mischief in their spare time – whether it be with sports, playing video games, hanging out with friends or playing with their dog – all of which make them the grounded and down to earth boys we know them as! What’s Next: Apart from the next season of “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody”, you can catch them in the modern film version of “The Prince and the Pauper”. And rumour has it that they have also just signed on to another Mark Twain related project - a movie based on Tom Sawyer!

Like Jesse McCartney, Drake has made the transition from TV star to musician. Earlier this year the “Drake and Josh” star won his second Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Television Actor. This guy has shown that he’s not only a talented actor but an equally talented singer songwriter with the release of his album “It’s Only Time.” Like Jesse, Drake too has won over fans with not just his talent and good looks but also his charming personality. What’s Next: Like Jesse, Drake is also stretching his talents to the big screen, having signed onto the upcoming movie “College”. Can’t wait that long for your Drake Bell fix? Well you can catch him on tour with Aly & AJ, Bianca Ryan, and Corbin Bleu! That’s going to be one crazy show!

You know her as Casey on “Life With Derek” and you may watch her as Kelly on “11 Cameras” but did you know that this talented actress was also an multi-award winning competitive dancer? For most people mastering one style of dance is enough, but proving to be a pro at multi-tasking, Ashley has won awards as a student of ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, and hip hop! Wow! Not only that, but Ashley is also balancing her acting career with studying! “Whenever I have time off, there is a university called Athabaska University, which you can do courses online, which are transferable to universities if I ever physically want to go to a university. So I can get courses along the way and continue to act. At least I have something to fall back on, if I change my mind,” says Ashley. What’s Next: Studying and filming “Life With Derek” are Ashley’s priorities for now, but maybe one day Ashley admits she’d love to go back and do theatre for a bit.

She stars in of the coolest shows on TV today, is the girlfriend of one of today’s up and coming hotties (former Laguna Beach star Stephen Colletti), and is a spokesperson for Neutrogena. Don’t forget all the awesome clothes she gets to wear and the cool parties she gets to attend! Jealous yet? Despite this, it’s impossible to dislike the latest “IT” girl. With her bright smile and the way she constantly demonstrates that she is in fact still a normal teenage girl under all that star quality, there’s no question as to why everyone loves Hayden Panettiere at the moment. What’s Next: As well as Neutrogena duties and the next season of “Heroes”, Hayden’s also working on a new movie - “Fireflies in the Garden” with Julia Roberts. And like the “IT” girls before her – namely Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan – Hayden is branching out into the music industry, working on her upcoming album.

Can you believe that “Good Morning Revival” is Good Charlotte’s FOURTH album? Neither can we! It seems only yesterday that we were introduced to four young pop-punk lads riding around with Mandy Moore in a golf cart in their debut single “Little Things” and take a look at them now! While still creating equally infectious hits, it’s clear that our favourite guys from Waldorf have matured and grown up. What’s Next: Apart from releasing more great hits from “Good Morning Revival”, US fans can catch the guys in August/September when they go on tour with one and only Justin Timberlake!

She’s famous for playing smart girl Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, but it’s a case of life imitates art (or would that be art imitates life?) when it comes to Hermione’s portrayer, Emma Watson. In 2006, Emma not only passed all 10 of her GCSE exams, but aced them with 8 A*’s and 2 A’s! Her Harry Potter co-star Katie Leung (Cho Chang) says, “Emma just knows what she wants; she’s very confident and so intelligent; she’s got so many A-stars in her exams. I don’t know how she manages it.” What’s Next: Take your pick from the soon to be released “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, to “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” said to be released next year, or “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in 2010. What you WON’T see her doing is launching a music career, but Emma wouldn’t mind trying out musical theatre. She’d also like to go to university – that is once she figures out what it is exactly that she’d like to study, due to her interests in so many subjects!

American Idol judge Simon Cowell says that she’s got “one of the best pop voices in the world”. While Idol creator (and her ex-manager) Simon Fuller says “I can’t think of anyone who sings better than Kelly Clarkson.” We’ve watched her grow from Idol winner to feisty rock chick and listened as her music mirrored that transition. There’s no denying that this girl has talent. Fans from all over the world love her so it’s no surprise that Kelly’s made our list. What’s Next: Kelly’s set to release beautiful yet melancholy “Sober” as her next single. She may have cancelled her US tour but for Australian fans it’s said that Kelly will be touring later in the year.
More Kelly in Portrait Magazine:
We’ve watched her grow as the younger Gilmore girl over the past 7 years. She’s ignited the small screen with her quick wit and intelligence as Rory Gilmore and it’s sad to watch that go. The quiet model-turned-actress may shy away from all the attention she receives and is uncomfortable with thought of being a role model, but that’s all the more reason why we love her! It’s refreshing to see a young Hollywood starlet that doesn’t drink, smoke, do drugs, or party hard! What’s Next: It might be the end of an era for Alexis after having starred on “Gilmore Girls” for a mighty seven years, but it’s only the start of her career. You can catch her in the film “Reed Fish” and in the upcoming sequel to the smash-hit movie “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants”. Alexis also says “I write a lot too, so I would like to write or direct in the future if I can,” claiming that “I always thought that I would work behind the camera…it’s a more comfortable place for me to be, really.”
More Alexis in Portrait Magazine:
Making the list for the second year running, it’s not hard to see why you guys still love this rockin’ pair of actor/singer sisters! But it’s not just a case of girls just wanna have fun for this duo. On their 2005 album “Into the Rush” they wrote all the songs featured. What’s more is that they take their song writing very seriously – the song “I Am One of Them” is a message to their fans warning them about child kidnapping. "Simple entertainment is shallow," says A.J. "Kids relate better to deep music. We come from a really genuine place." Adds sister Aly, "Our music comes from our heart, our soul, our experience. It's not just about boys and having the perfect day. It's got life in it. We're here to be a voice." What’s Next: Watch out for their movie “Sweet 16: The Movie” on MTV on July 8th. Don’t fret if you miss it! It will be released on DVD a few days later on July 10th! Also on July 10th, is the release of the girls’ much anticipated new album “Insomniac”!
More Aly and AJ in Portrait Magazine:
People Magazine recently dubbed these talented guys as “heartthrobs”. “I have no problems with girls,” says band member Nick, who is said to be dating Miley Cyrus. “I know the other two feel the same.” With the release of their new album being released next month, these guys better be prepared for the swarm of fangirls set to follow! But it’s not all about looks for these young lads. Every song on their new album – set to be released August 7th – is written by the guys! Not bad for boys their age! What’s Next: As well as the release of their new album (look out for the deluxe version released on September 25th), from now straight through October, the guys are touring around the US. They also filmed an original pilot for the Disney Channel last month about themselves, which will feature them and their little brother Frankie. So be on the lookout for that!

Another Portrait favourite making the list for the second year running, Amanda Bynes is still keeping us in stiches with her amazing comedic talent! But we don’t just love her for making us laugh, her grounded and down to earth personality and her positive and friendly characteristics is what draws in fans world-wide. Not to mention her smart and responsible nature! “Right now I’m young and I should be aware of the fact that I’m a role model. Whether you like it or not, when you’re acting, you are in the public eye and if you’re young, you have young people who look up to you. I think that you should be conscious of that,” says Amanda. What’s Next: Amanda’s part of the all-star cast in the highly awaited “Hairspray” film and then is set to star in another modern day version of a classic story in “Sydney White and the Seven Dorks”. Amanda is also launching her own fashion and accessories line. Products of “DEAR” will be out on August 10th and consists of 120 pieces of clothing, 28 accessory styles, and 70 pieces of jewellery. The best bit is that everything in the collection is said to cost less than US$20 per piece and will reflect Amanda’s own sense of style! We can’t wait!

Can these guys do anything wrong? From several guest appearances on favourite teen drama “One Tree Hill” to infectious smash hit singles and multi-winning albums, the only way is up for this Chicago band that came together only a few years ago back in 2001! Having released another successful album earlier this year “Infinity on High” – the follow up to the awesome “From Under The Cork Tree”, the guys look set to become one of the most successful pop-rock-punk bands to have ever hit the scene! What’s Next: The guys are currently touring in the US, before heading off to Johannesburg, South Africa for a few shows. After that it’s a world wide trip with tours in Mexico City, Japan, Germany, France, England, and Australia.

It’s been a rough year for Britney Spears, but we still have a special place for the innocent pop princess schoolgirl that captured our attention with the catchy “Baby One More Time” back in 1999. If there’s anyone who can pick herself up and get back herself back on track, it’s our Britney. “You go into a time in your life with the world watching and you are just trying to figure yourself out,” Britney’s mum Lynne Spears, told US magazine “Us”. “It’s sad that the whole world had to watch her make mistakes that all of us have made at one time or another.” What’s Next: After Britney sorts herself out, expect a new kick ass album to be released!

He’s been around for a while, but it’s only been in the last six months that people have started to sit up and take notice of the former “Even Stevens” star. And can you blame them? Starring in not one but two smash hit movies this year – the creepy “Disturbia” and the action-packed “Transformers, it’s clear that Shia has grown up from his “Even Stevens” days and is destined for great things! What’s Next: Not only has Shia started a hip-hop group/record label called “Element” with his best friend and fellow actor Lorenzo Eduardo, but the pair have also formed a film company together – www.grassyslope.com. No doubt that these two ventures will be keeping Shia busy! But for those of you who want another fix of Shia on the big screen, you’ll be pleased to know that you can catch him in the 4th Indiana Jones movie with Harrison Ford.

Yes the constant comparisons to fellow rockers “Fall Out Boy” are inevitable. Especially when it seems that the two are competing for the world’s longest possible song title ever! So let’s skip past all of that shall we? These young guys from Las Vegas have a distinctive electronica influenced sound that sets them apart from other favourite rockers. Watch out world and make way for Panic! At The Disco – these guys have proven that there IS room for another fun pop-rock-punk-dance band! What’s Next: The follow up to 2005’s kick-ass “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out”, which will no doubt be full of new infectious hits! Otherwise fans in Europe can catch them in various festivals in August.

Featured for the second year running, Hilary Duff is entirely deserving of not only her place in Portrait’s Top 30 Under 30, but also the title of “The Role Model”. Don’t dismiss this remarkable young woman as “just another teen queen” because this actress/singer and now songwriter (and let’s not forget “entrepreneur” with her “Stuff” label and “With Love” fragrance) is much more than that. Despite a rough 12 months professionally and personally, unlike many of young stars her age, Hilary has taken it all in her stride and not succumbed the pressures and going off the rails. What makes her such a class act is that she is very aware of her status and how younger people look up to her. “My mom always tells me and my sister, "You know who you are looking up to but you never know who might be looking up to you," says Hilary. What’s Next: Hilary has 3 movies due to come out and she’s excited for the world to see she’s all grown up now and what she can do! “I wanted to challenge myself and do something unexpected, and also be excited about it,” she says. So look out for Hilary in “Brand Hauser” AKA “War Inc” and the animated “Food Fight!”

Hannah Montana is a show about “normal” 14 year old Miley by day, teen sensation Hannah Montana by night, and her friends and family. An instant hit debuting with 5.4 million viewers in its first episode, its young vibrant cast is what attracts fans from all over the world to the show. The chemistry between the cast is a result of the friendship that they share in real life. “We always hang out between scenes. We're friends on and off the set. We dance or watch TV. We're barely ever apart!” says Miley Cyrus who plays Miley/Hannah. What’s Next: As well as working on Hannah Montana, the young cast is branching out into other projects. Mitchel Musso is lending his voice to the new animated Disney show “Phineas and Ferb”. Miley will be spending some time juggling her music and acting career. Jason Earles is also doing voiceover work for new shows on the Disney Channel, and will feature in the new film “Gordon Glass”.

But in the past 18 months we’ve finally been able to see Chloe break free from the sidekick typecast and become Clark’s confidant and help him out from time to time. Chloe’s transformation into Clark’s “go-to-girl” means that the world finally gets to take notice of the talented actress behind Chloe – the wonderful yet underrated Allison Mack! What’s Next: Surely Chloe did NOT die in the enthralling season finale of Smallville?! Have we really been watching the gang from Degrassi High grow up, get their hearts broken and learn from their mistakes for 6 seasons now? The time sure has flown fast for the multi-award winning show and cast! Unafraid to portray an array of issues that affect the youth of today (even if it does get the show banned in certain countries around the world), this show has shown its critics who’s boss and it’s all thanks to its talented ensemble of a cast! What’s Next: Degrassi: The Next Generation has proven to be a great stepping stone for its cast, with many of them branching out into other projects outside if the show. Miriam McDonald has 2 movies that you can catch her in – “The Poet” and “The Diary”. Also starring in “The Diary” is her co-star Deanna Casaluce. Daniel Clark also has two films coming out – “Juno” and “Left For Dead”. Lauren Collins will feature in the TV series “The Border”, as well as the film “Charlie Bartlett” alongside Tyler Hilton. “I always try to be real and natural. Just a normal kid,” says Josh when asked about the success with roles he’s had. Ironic for someone who gets paid to pretend to be someone he’s not as a job! But Josh’s grounded approach to life is why the star of “RV” and “Bridge To Terrabithia” has so many fans and definitely why he’s made our Top 30! It was the best show you weren’t watching. The too-smart-for-you drama may not have gotten the ratings it deserved, but the love that critics and fans had for it sure made up for it! There aren’t many people that can balance humour, wit, and emotion into a perfect blend – which is what “Veronica Mars” is – but these guys do it brilliantly! Each and every one of them bring something to the show that makes it so adored and unique! What’s Next: After teetering on the edge of cancellation for three years, “Veronica Mars” has finally been let go by television executives. But just because the show is over doesn’t mean that the careers of its awesome cast is! Kristen Bell has three new films set to be released within the next year – “Fanboys”, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, and “Antique”. She’s also lending her voice to the animated movie “Flatland”, as well as the new TV show “Gossip Girls” which she’ll be narrating. Jason Dohring has just landed (and by “just landed” we mean ‘fresh off the press we had to change this article before the new issue launched’ “just landed”!) a starring role in the new TV show “Moonlight”. Percy Daggs III will be seen in the upcoming movie “American Son” with Nick Cannon. Ryan Hansen can also be seen on the big screen in two new films – “Palo Alto” and “Sherman’s Way”. “Sherman’s Way” is said to also feature fellow “Veronica Mars” castmate Enrico Colantoni. Tina Majorino can be seen in the Biopic film “What We Do Is Secret” with Shane West, as well as the 2nd season of the TV Show “Big Love” which she juggled filming with Veronica Mars. Tina is also in the band “The AM Project” (http://myspace.com/amproject) so there’s no doubt that she’ll be a busy young thing! Julie Gonzalo has also been keeping busy! You can see her in the Spanish film “Ladron Que Roba a Ladron”, Saving Angelo”, and “Silent Night”. Julie is also branching out beyond acting and is a producer in the film “Pink Eye”. And you’ve probably all heard about Chris Lowell’s new role in the “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off by now! Titled “Private Practice” Chris will play “Dell” the surfer-receptionist. Chris is also in the yet to be released film “You Are Here” with Jesse McCartney’s girlfriend, Katie Cassidy.

With their charming personalities, good looks and the clear bond they have that makes us wonder if they truly are brothers in real life, there’s no hesitating about why Jared and Jensen made our list in the first place!
