2009 Portrait Top 30 Under 30 as chosen by YOU!
By Angela Lee
It’s that time of the year again – Portrait’s Top 30 Under 30 for the year as voted by YOU! This year we decided to spice things up a bit and choose our Top 30 at the end of the year, rather than our traditional mid-year. This meant that there was more opportunities for newer talents this year to have a chance to be part of Portrait’s Top 30. With over 85 000 votes, the competition sure got interesting over the two month period of voting as fans battled it out to support their favourite nominees. So who made it and who didn’t? Without further adieu, we present to you the 2009 Portrait Top 30 Under 30 as chosen by YOU!
#30. The New Blink 182: All Time Low
Jack Barakat (Guitar & Vocals – June 18, 1988), Zack Merrick (Bass & Vocals – April 21, 1988), Alex Gaskarth (Guitar & Lead Vocals – December 14, 1987), Rian Dawson (Drums – December 18, 1987)
This pop punk band from Baltimore, USA may have been on the scene since 2003, but it wasn’t until this year that the rest of the population has stood back and taken notice of them with the release of their third album Nothing Personal shooting straight into the #4 position on the Billboard Charts! They first signed with the record company Emerald Moon Records in 2004, before moving on to sign with Hopeless Records in 2006. In November 2009, they announced that they had signed with big-wig record company Interscope Records, so no doubt these guys will be destined for big things!
What’s Next:Keep an eye out for the soundtrack to the upcoming Alice In Wonderland film, because the guys appear on the soundtrack. All Time Low will also be touring around the UK and some parts of Europe in January & February 2010, before performing at the Soundwave festival in Australia in February and March. They’ll also go back to playing gigs in the States in April and May. Phew – that sure is a lot of touring!
#29. The New Vamps in Town: The Vampire Diaries cast
Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert – January 9, 1989), Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore – July 23, 1982), Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy Gilbert – July 13, 1988), Katerina Graham (Bonnie Bennett – September 5, 1989) Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes – May 13, 1987), Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan – February 22, 1985), Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood – January 25, 1985), Sara Canning (Jenna Sommers – July 14, 1987), Kayla Ewell (Vicki Donovan – August 27, 1985)
|
Based on the novels by L.J. Smith, this blood-sucking drama has become the stand out hit out of all the new shows on The C.W. this year, and with it, shooting its relatively fresh-faced cast members into the spotlight. Everyone loves a good teenage vampire drama set in a small town type of story, and throw in the love triangle between brothers Stefan and Damon and the ordinary girl Elena, and it’s not hard to see why viewers have quickly latched on and dedicated themselves to this show!
What’s Next: The Vampire Diaries has been picked up by The C.W. for a full 22 episode first season so there’ll be plenty of Vampire Diaries goodness for viewers to enjoy. Paul Wesley will appear in a few episodes of the new season of 24, as well as the film Beneath the Blue. Steven R. McQueen is in the upcoming film Piranha 3-D, while Katerina Graham has quite a few films up her sleeve too - Chicago Pulaski Jones, The Roommate (with Leighton Meester, Minka Kelly, and Cam Gidganet), Boogie Town, and Bleachers.Michael Trevino is in The Factory, a film slated for release in 2011.
#28. The Elite Gymnasts: Make It Or Break It cast
Zachary Abel (Carter Anderson), Chelsea Hobbs (Emily Kmetko– February 18, 1984), Ayla Kell (Payson Keeler – October 7, 1990), Josie Loren (Kaylie Cruz – March 19, 1987) Cassie Scerbo (Lauren Tanner – March 30, 1990), Mia Rose Frampton (Becca Keeler), Wyatt Smith (Brian Kmetko – November 29, 1994), Johnny Pacar (Damon Young – June 6, 1981), Kayla Ewell (Vicki Donovan – August 27, 1985)
This ABC Family drama following the lives of elite teenage gymnasts with Olympic dreams may have only aired 10 episodes so far, but it already has a dedicated fanbase! It is the ABC Family’s second best rating show behind The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which is interesting to note, considering that the Make It Or Break It young cast beat out the SLotAT cast in our top 30 this year!
What’s Next:The second half of the first season will be back on January 4, 2010 – not long to go now!
#27. Ones To Watch: The Maine
John O’Callaghan (Vocals), Garrett Nickelsen (Bass), Kennedy Brock (Guitar and Vocals), Jared Monaco (Guitar) Pat Kirch (Drums)
Don’t let their name confuse you, this band is actually from Arizona, not Maine! Some of you may not have heard of them yet but over the past 2 years these guys have had sold out tours, hit records, featured on magazine covers, and made many “ones to watch” critics lists – so if you haven’t heard of them yet, no doubt you soon will and will love this alternative band!
What’s Next:There’s rumours that these guys will be touring in 2010 but nothing official yet. Otherwise, we’re sure the guys will keep on making rockin’ music!
#26. American Sweetheart: Taylor Swift
Born: December 13, 1989
2009 was certainly a big year for this country pop singer-songwriter! Not only did she tour around the world and sell millions of records internationally, she also showed she had a bit of acting chops with appearances in the Hannah Montana movie and a standout episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Taylor also filmed the movie Valentine’s Day alongside Twilight’s Taylor Lautner, and also hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live and showed off her comedic skills. Taylor also showed what a class act she was with her graceful reaction to the Kanye West incident 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Team Taylor all the way!
What’s Next: In 2010 you’ll be able to check out more of Taylor’s acting skills in Valentine’s Day. Australian fans can check out Taylor in concert during her February 2010 tour, before she resumes touring the US in March through to June.
#25. Standing Up on Their Own Feet: Hanson
Issac Hanson (Guitar, Bass, Piano, Vocals– November 17, 1980), Taylor Hanson (Piano, Guitar, Drums, Vocals– March 14, 1983), Zachary Hanson (Drums, Piano, Guitar, Vocals–October 22, 1985)
They have gotten our attention over a decade ago with their squeaky pop image as long haired teenagers who introduced the world to the phrase “Mmbop” – boy have the times changed! The guys have certainly proved themselves over the years and grown up. Not only are they now married and fathers, but they broke away from mainstream pop and took a more independent direction in terms of music and production. While the guys may no longer be the fresh faced teenage heartthrobs with poptastic hits, they are now credible musicians with a just as loyal fanbase.
What’s Next:Fans are anticipating the brothers’ new album, which is set for release in Spring 2010.
#24. Brotherly Love: The Jonas Brothers
Kevin Jonas (Guitar/Backing Vocals – November 5, 1987), Joe Jonas (Lead vocals/Percussion & Keyboards – August 15, 1989), Nick Jonas (Lead vocals/Percussion & Keyboards – September 16, 1992)
2009 has been a good year for these brothers as they toured the world and continued to sell millions of records. In fact, the release of their latest album “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times”, released just 10 months after their previous album, saw the guys have 2 #1 debuts in less than a year! Their continuing success has opened many more opportunities for them, as evidenced by their upcoming projects for 2010. As long as the music keeps rolling, fans are happy.
What’s Next:You can check out the guys in Camp Rock 2 when it is released in 2010, as well as a second season of JONAS, also in 2010. Nick is also working on his own project outside of his brothers – Nick Jonas and the Administration. Rumour has it that it may result in an international tour next year!
#23. One Woman Show: Ashley Tisdale
Born: July 2, 1985
This multi-talented actress/singer shows that there is indeed life after High School Musical with her impressive resume this year. Not only did she star in films such as Aliens in the Attic, and go back to her roots by guest starring on The Suite Life on Deck, and lend her voice to Phineas and Ferb, but she also got more hands on with the film and television industry with her own production company “Blondie Girl Productions”. Ashley is in talks to develop a few projects including a rumoured reality show. And if that wasn’t enough, Ashley continued to develop her music career with the release of her second album Guilty Pleasure. Phew!
What’s Next:The various yet to be officially confirmed projects that Ashley and Blondie Girl Productions are said to be involved in will potentially keep Ashley busy in 2010, as will her music career.
#22. You Know You Still Love Them: The Cast of Gossip Girl
Blake Lively (Serena Van Der Woodsen – August 25, 1987), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf – April 9, 1986), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald – July 18, 1985), Penn Badgly (Dan Humphrey – November 1, 1986) Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass - June 27, 1987), Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey – July 26, 1993), Jessica Szhor (Vanessa Abrams – March 31, 1985), Connor Paolo (Eric Van Der Woodsen –July 11, 1990)
Now in their 3rd season, and the cast of Gossip Girl are still as popular as ever, despite falling ratings. The ratings may be down, but that is no reflection on the cast members themselves as they continue to grace magazine covers and launch projects outside of the television show that made them stars.
What’s Next: Don’t give up on the show just yet – writers have realised that the show has been missing a bit of its magic and promise to get things back up for the remainder of season three. In the meantime, Leighton Meester is juggling the show with her solo music career, as is Taylor Momsen and her band “The Pretty Reckless”. Blake Lively can be seen in the upcoming film The Town, while Penn Badgley can be seen in the 2010 film Easy A. No doubt by now you would have heard about Chace Crawford starring in the remake of Footloose. You can also see a different side to him when the film Twelve is released. Leighton Meester also has two films set for release in 2010 - The Roomate, and Date Night. While recurring cast member Connor Paolo has three films up his sleeve for the near future - Favourite Son, Camp Hope/I>, and Stake Land.
#21. Smallville’s Sweetheart: Allison Mack
Born: July 29, 1982
She’s the Smallville darling that has been there since day one, and when it was suggested that Allison and her character Chloe Sullivan may not have returned this season, fans turned rabid, demonstrating just how dedicated Allison’s fanbase is! Year after year, Allison wows us with her acting talents and her mix of vulrenable yet tough portrayal of Chloe. Allison’s spirituality and thoughfulness as demonstrated through her blog and other projects outside Smallville further adds to why fans love her so much.
What’s Next:Having already shown her directing skills in a previous episode of Smallville last season, Allison is set to direct another episode 9x11 “Warrior”, which will air in late January. Her production company Parvati Creative Inc., which she opened with Rosa Bhura and former Smallville co-star Kristin Kreuk, will no doubt also keep Allison busy.
#20.The Strong Willed Heroine: Bridget Regan
Born: February 3, 1982
It’s strange to think that before landing the role of Kahlan the Confessor in Legend of the Seeker, Bridget Regan’s career highlight may have been playing a hostess in the Sex and the City movie. Now look at her and her career – not bad for a former nanny, gym employee and waitress!
What’s Next:Now that season 2 of Legend of the Seeker finally started back up last month, we’ll have plenty of Bridget onscreen to entertain us! She will also star in the film The Best and the Brightest set for release sometime in 2010.
#19. Modern Day Beauty: Vanessa Hudgens
Born: December 14, 1988
It was a bit quiet on the Vanessa Hudgens front this year. All we saw of her was in Bandslam which didn’t do as well as anticipated, but critics recognised the stellar job our girl V did as the intense Sa5m, and attributed her as the reason why the film was a lot more bearable than it would have been. Despite the lack of Vanessa projects available to fans in 2009, her fanbase still kept the faith and were dedicated enough to vote Vanessa into the top 30!
What’s Next:We may have only seen Vanessa in one film onscreen this year, but she did spend the year filming projects for the future. Next July, fans can catch Vanessa in the much anticipated modern day version of Beauty and the Beast in Beastly, alongside Alex Pettyfer. While in 2011, Sucker Punch - which has been described as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns – will be released and fans can check Vanessa out in that, playing the role of Blondie.
#18. Take That Edward Cullen!: Daniel Radcliffe
Born: July 23, 1989
Twilight may have been the latest craze to take over the world much like how Harry Potter did when it was first released, but the release of the sixth film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince this year proved that the Harry Potter cast still have what it takes and that its star Daniel Radcliffe is still adored by fans.
What’s Next:Daniel still has Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II to be released in the next two years. If you can’t wait for the films, you can also check out Daniel in an episode of The Simpsons next year, where in a pretty entertaining twist, he’ll be lending his voice to the character of Edmund – a kid vampire that Lisa falls for. Homer and Edmund’s father Dracula, will try to tear Lisa and Edmund apart. Notice the subtleties against another popular book series turned film franchise? ;) Additionally, Daniel will also show a more mature side to his talents when he narrates the 2010 Holocaust Memorial Day Short Film The Legacy of Hope.
#17. For Our Entertainment: Adam Lambert
Born: January 29, 1982
He may be new to the music scene, but don’t let that fool you! Adam may have been runner up on American Idol this year, but this electro pop rocker has proved that he is just as popular and talented as winner Kris Allen, if Adam’s dedicated fanbase is any indication.
What’s Next:Adam’s debut album For You Entertainment was released at late month, so no doubt promoting and releasing tracks off the album will keep Adam quite occupied over coming months, and fans needn’t worry about Adam disappearing into obscurity like so many Idol contestants before him.
#16. The Comeback Guy: Drake Bell
Born: June 27, 1986
It’s been a while since we’ve seen any new major projects from this actor and singer/songwriter, who has kept a bit of a low profile since his Drake and Josh days, but never fear, because the guy we dubbed as “the next Jesse McCartney” in our Top 30 two years ago is back! Drake fans might have been satisfied with his appearance in an episode of i-Carly this year, but they’ll be even more pleased to know that we’ll be seeing much more of Drake than that!
What’s Next:Fans can look forward to checking out Drake in The Miracle of Santa Rosa and Sleepaway Camp Reunion when they are released sometime in the future. Drake is also writing and recording his third album, which is hopefully released in 2010. But in the meantime, fans can catch Drake as an ambassador for the Thirst Project for the time being.
#15. Watch Out Hilary!: Selena Gomez
Born: July 22, 1992
Watch out Hilary, there’s a new tween idol in town, and she’s also super nice and super talented and bound to give you a run for your money! 2009 has been a pretty big year for Selena Gomez – starring as teen wizard Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place, to starring alongside real-life BFF Demi Lovato in Princess Protection Program, to launching her music career with the release of her debut album Kiss and Tell by Selena Gomez and the Scene (Selena’s band). The album showed that just like predecessor Hilary, Selena has the pipes to rock out and slow it down with a heartfelt ballad or two. Selena has also been involved with charity work such as volunteering for St Jude’s Hospital for Children, and Disney’s Friends for Change. She was also a youth ambassador for UNICEF twice, and even travelled to Africa for it!
What’s Next: Next year fans can catch Selena as Bea (Beezus) in the film adaptation of the much loved children’s novel Ramona and Beezus. She is also rumoured to be starring in What Boys Want, as well as another book turned film adaptation for The Seven Rays, which was originally written by Jessica Bendinger. Also following in Hilary’s footsteps, Selena will be releasing her own clothing line in 2010 : Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez, but with a cool twist – the clothes will be made from recycled or eco friendly material! Awesome!
#14. No Bad Boy: Tom Felton
Born: September 22, 1987
He may play a bad guy on screen, but this Harry Potter actor is far from it in real life. Unlike his alter ego, Tom is a bit of a self confessed technology geek, who loves his i-Phone. Real life Draco Malfoy? We think not!
What’s Next:You can catch Tom in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II of course. He is also rumoured to be a part of the film Grace and Danger, and has a role in the film 13 Hrs.
#13. Move Over Tokio Hotel: Cinema Bizarre
Jack E. Strify (Vocals – August 20, 1988), Yummy Unique (Guitar – December 29, 1988), Kiro (Bass – January 11, 1988), Romeo (Keyboard – August 4, 1988) Shin (Drums – December 12, 1989)
Watch out Tokio Hotel, there’s a new German band in town and they are set to invade on your international success! But let’s get one thing straight – Cinema Bizarre are not Tokio Hotel clones, and have their own different style with a sound that is rock meets synthpop. Their sound is unique and hard to define exactly, but some call it Glam Pop. Cinema Bizarre also have a distinct fashion sense and are very into Japanese Trends. This year, the band released the tracks “ I Came 2 Party” and “My Obsession” from their second album ToyZ, also released this year. Americans were also introduced to Cinema Bizarre this year, when they released the special US album BANG!, which was a combination of their two original albums.
What’s Next:Having released new music this year, it is likely that the guys will continue to release great tracks from their latest album in 2010, and hopefully do a bit of touring!
#12. Steady Presence: Garrett Hedlund
Born: September 3, 1984
Despite the fact that things have been a bit quiet on the Garrett Hedlund front over the past year and that we haven’t seen him in a role since 2007, this actor – who has only had a handful of roles in his career so far – sure has a loyal fanbase that have kept him in the Top 15 in our Top 30 over the past two years. This can only mean that fans see something special in Garrett and know that it’s only a matter of time until he makes it big in the industry and the rest of the world discovers him, and we for one can’t wait!
What’s Next:Garrett is still rumoured to be playing the role of Louis in the film Hectic and there has been no further news about that. He will also play Sam Flynn in the film Tran Legacy next year.
#11. The Guiness World Record Breakers: McFly
Danny Jones (Guitar & Vocals - March 12, 1986), Tom Fletcher (Guitar & Vocals - July 17, 1985), Harry Judd (Drummer - December 23, 1985), Dougie Poynter (Bass & Vocals - November 30, 1987)
Together for five years but flying onto the radar three and a half years ago, since then McFly have had seven #1 singles and two #1 albums. They now hold the Guiness World Record for the youngest band to ever chart at #1 with a debut album – the record was previously held by The Beatles! Last month they released their greatest hits album, but by no means does that mean the guys are approaching the end of the road! There’s plenty more success for them to come!
What’s Next:Having spent a lot of 2009 touring, the guys are now currently writing and making demos for their fifth album, which they hope to release mid to late 2010, and we for one can’t wait!
#10.Up For a Challenge: Alexz Johnson
Born: November 4, 1986
Since Instant Star ended, Alexz has been concentrating on her music and working on getting her music released. (Thank you very much big wig record companies and your bureaucracies preventing Alexz from releasing her older material by the way!) Yet in 2009, she still managed to find the time in her busy schedule to make a few appearances on the small screen. At the start of the year, we saw her in an episode of Smallville, playing Saturn Girl. She then received praise for her double-duty role in the Lifetime television film Stranger With My Face, where she played twins separated at birth. There’s no doubt that Alexz is always up for a challenge, and that role certainly proved that she can handle it!
What’s Next:Now that Alexz has moved away from big wig record companies and started her own independent company “Laydee Spencer Music”, fans can’t wait for Alexz to be finally able to release the music that she is so passionate about!
#9. The Good Guy: Jared Padalecki
Born: July 19, 1982
He’s known as the nicer and more sensitive brother on Supernatural, and it’s a case of life imitates art in real life because Jared Padalecki is just as sweet in real life. Hailing from Texas, he is a true gentlemen and perhaps that’s why fans love him so much. He’s also kind to animals and loves rescuing stray dogs. Earning even more brownie points, unlike his alter ego Sam Winchester, Jared is also a bit of a prankster, who enjoys mucking about and pulling pranks. Sweet and funny? No wonder everyone loves him so much!
What’s Next:For now Jared is concentrating on the 5th season of Supernatural, but with a sequel to the Friday the 13th film being made, we wonder whether Jared will be involved in the sequel.
#8. The Dilligent Student: Emma Watson
Born: April 15, 1990
She plays a dedicated student Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, but in real life, portrayer Emma Watson is just as studious to her studies. This year the young British actress can now add college student to her resume, as she is now attending Brown University in the USA, in an attempt for normalcy in her life.
What’s Next:Life as a college student will certainly keep Emma occupied, but fans needn’t fear, because she still has Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II up her sleeve!
#7. Destined to be an Idol: David Archuleta
Born: December 28, 1990
He may have been runner up of the 7th season of American Idol last year, but David’s journey to becoming a singing idol has been a long time coming. He was 11 years old when he sang for contestants from the first season of American Idol, wowing the likes of Kelly Clarkson with his voice in 2002. The following year, he made it onto the second season of Star Search, but experienced health problems during this time. A few years later in 2007, now 16 years old, David auditioned for American Idol. From the success of American Idol, David has become a star in his own right, and is now a successful artists with his own album. This year, David has opened for big name stars such as McFly and Demi Lovato while they were on tour.
What’s Next:David is currently touring around the States on his Christmas tour, but after that he has no precise concrete plans.
#6. Still Rockin’ the World: Tokio Hotel
Bill Kaulitz (vocals – September 1, 1989), Tom Kaulitz (guitar – September 1, 1989), Georg Listing(bass – March 31, 1987), Gustav Schafer (drums – September 8, 1988)
They debuted at #2 in our top 30 last year, and this rockin’ band still has what it takes with the release of their latest album Humanoid causing fans to keep on going gaga over them! Also proving their popularity, the guys won the Award for the Best Group at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards last month.
What’s Next:Now that fans have a new album from the guys to keep them entertained, the next thing on fans’ wishlists is for a world tour. Fingers crossed!
#5. No Sidekick: Rupert Grint
Born: August 24, 1988
For years he’s been the shadow of best friend and teen wizard Harry Potter, but finally this year Ron Weasley and his portrayer Rupert Grint, have stepped out of the shadow and become their own man. Ron got the girl, with Ron and Hermione becoming a couple in this year’s Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, while Rupert furthered his acting career with a few roles that will seek to cement his future movie career.
What’s Next:Ron has a few films up his sleeve. One that looks set to make his career is the lead role in the $15m comedy biopic on British Winter Olympian Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards. Fans are also waiting for the release of the films Wild Target, Cherrybomb, and of course Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II.
#4. The World Phenomenon: The Cast of The Twilight Saga: New Moon
Robert Pattison (Edward Cullen – May 13, 1986 ), Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan – April 9, 1990), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen - February 21, 1987), Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black - February 11, 1992), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale - December 21, 1984), Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale - May 17, 1988), Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen – March 15, 1985), Michael Welch (Mike Newton - July 25, 1987), Christian Serratos (Angela Webber – September 21, 1990), Anna Kendrick (Jessica Stanley – August 9, 1985), Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie – May 29, 1981), Jamie Campbell Bower (Caius – November 22, 1988), Daniel Cudmore (Felix – January 20, 1981), Charlie Bewley (Demetri), Kiowa Gordon (Embry), Tyson Houseman (Quil – February 9, 1990), Alex Meraz (Paul – January 10, 1985), Bronson Pelletier,(Jared – December 31, 1986), Tinsel Korey (Emily Young ), Dakota Fanning (Jane – February 23, 1994), Cameron Bright (Alec – January 26, 1993)
2009 was definitely the year for Twilight, with the world going gaga over the novels turned film franchise, and its stars. The cast members were subjected to constant paparazzi attention and graced countless covers of magazines. Fans stake out locations in the hopes of even just catching a glimpse of their favourite stars. Face it – if you haven’t heard of Twilight you must have been living under a rock somewhere! The second film in the series New Moon may have only been released last month, but fans (and press!) are going just as gaga for the NEXT film Eclipse, which is set for release next year! We don’t think the Twilight hype will be dying down anytime soon...
What’s Next:Apart from Eclipse due for release next year, the young cast members of New Moon have certainly been keeping themselves busy! You can catch Kristen Stewart in the Joan Jett bio-pic released next year, where she also stars alongside New Moon co-star Dakota Fanning. Robert Pattison can be seen in Remember Me and is believed to be in Unbound Captives and Bel Ami, which are still in pre-production stages. Kiowa Gordan is rumoured to be in the films Murder for Dummys and Into the Darkness, both of which are set for release in 2011 at this stage. Michael Welch has a few films up his sleeve with Lost Dream, Rough Hustle, and Unrequited. While Anna Kendrick can be seen in the 2010 Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
#3. Dreams Do Come True: Evanna Lynch
Born: August 16, 1991
She’s gained a legion of dedicated fans from playing Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, but did you know that Evanna Lynch herself is quite the Harry Potter fan and has been long before she was even part of the films? When she was younger, Evanna used to write to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, asking if she have a role in the films. Funnily enough, J.K Rowling has written back to Evanna on occasions. Fast forward a few years later and dreams really do come true! And here’s an extra Evanna/Harry Potter tibit – Evanna made the Raddish Earrings that Luna Lovegood wears in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!
What’s Next:As with most of the Harry Pottercast, you can catch Evanna in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II.
#2. The Multi-Tasker: Bonnie Wright
Born: February 17, 1991
Over the years, Bonnie Wright has turned into a fine young talented woman, and she can thank her multi-tasking abilities for allowing her to accomplish so much at a young age. While filming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Bonnie balanced shooting with her A-Levels, where she took art, photography, design technology, and English. While filming Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II, Bonnie intends to continue to the juggling act by also attending London’s University of the Arts to study film and television. In her spare time, Bonnie’s other interests include: art, dance, travelling, musical instruments such as the piano, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, and the recorder, and sports such as football, swimming, tennis, riding, ice skating, and cycling. Phew!
What’s Next: You can catch Bonnie in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts I & II.Bonnie will also juggle Harry Potter commitments with attending London’s University of the Arts to study film and television, where she hopes to continue acting and go into working behind the scenes once Harry Potter is over. She is also believed to be taking part in the short film Geography of the Hapless Heart: Sweat, which is part of a five part series.
#Surprise Domination: #1. Hilary Duff
Born: September 28, 1987
Is there anything this superstar hasn’t done? Over the years, while her fellow Hollywood starlet peers were making headlines in the press, Hilary was quietly building her empire and undertaking as many projects in the industry as possible, and now she has conquered so many things that the world should prepare for Hilary Duff Domination! Since gaining attention as awkward teenager Lizzie McGuire eight years ago, the then Disney star went on to have an array of different film and television roles under her belt. She launched a music career and released a few albums along the way. She has her own web series Hilary Duff: The Chase for her Femme line for DKNY Jeans. Prior to Femme for DKNY Jeans, Hilary also had her clothing line Stuff by Hilary Duff, as well as two perfume fragrances with Elizabeth Arden. She’s had her own doll, and was a character on a SIMS game. Later on in her movie career, she also started developing skills behind the scenes and became executive producers on some of her films.
