It’s been seven long months since the last time we saw a fresh episode of our favorite teen show “One Tree Hill“, a show about the lives of a group of five kids living in the small town of Tree Hill. The group consisted of a group of different characters; we had the emotional writer/basketball player, the married basketball star, the artsy girl, the nerdy girl and the smart/slutty girl. Of course there were also the backup characters like Mouth, Skills, Rachel, Junk, Fergie and of course Bevin. We went trough a lot of adventures with these characters over the four years… And now we will get brand new adventures as the show skips nearly five years into the future and the characters venture in the life of adults!

Previously on One Tree Hill:

In the season finale of S4 everything was concluded seeing how the show ended the High School years. Lucas finished his novel, Peyton got an internship, Haley and Nate had their baby, Brooke graduated and went to L.A. for the summer. Karen had her baby and named her Lilly after the flowers she saw in a dream with Keith. And finally, Dan was put behind bars.

Fast forward four years on…

Lucas Scott

Previosly: Six years ago Luke was an outcast with only one real friend in his life but as his life progressed everything changed. He became a popular jock with an emotional side. And through it all he gained new friends and new father, well almost. When we left Luke he’d written a novel about his life in Tree Hill and about everyone in his life.

New personality and problems: When we return he will be a published author who returns to tree Hill to train the Ravens. Like everyone on this new journey he will face a lot of difficulties, among them the troublesome star of the basketball team, Quentin, who Luke will need to straight out Another thing he will have to overcome is his writers block while trying to write

Lindsay - Lucas' Editor and Girlfriend

his second novel because his editor is pushing him to do it quickly. One of the reasons for his return is to overcome his trust issues by facing his old life, according to Chad Michael Murray.

Love interest(s): He will have a new love interest; his girlfriend and editor; Lindsay.. However, you can expect more angst in his love life; as always he seems to be interested in Peyton again, as mark Schwann explained. So we can look forward to a new love triangle… There will also be some “seducing” scenes between Luke and Jamie’s nanny.

Peyton Sawyer

"I miss the person I used to be"

Previosly: When the show first started Peyton was an emotional girl hiding inside a popular cheerleader. Throughout the show she faced a lot of difficulties like losing her biological mother, being shot in the school shooting, being attacked by a psycho stalker…etc… but she got through all of that, mostly by the help of her friends and family. When we left her in the finale of season 4 she was leaving for L.A. to work as an intern at a music company.

New Old personality and problems: Peyton, personality wise hasn’t changed one bit. She’s still the music loving emotional artist trying to make everything perfect for everyone, including herself. She is having troubles at work seeing how she’s still at the bottom of the music

Lucas and Peyton are far from over

ladder, still an “assistant to an assistant”. She comes back to Tree Hill and opens up Tric again, where she books some new bands to play. Surprisingly enough, Peyton doesn’t seem to have any emotional problems like she did for the past few years, her only goal is to book as many bands as she can and make as many of them successful as she can.

Love interest(s): Some fans have hoped for the return of Jake, but that isn’t happening; like I said: no emotional problems for our Peyton this season - her only love interest will be Lukas… later in the season.

Nathan Scott

Previously: In the start Nate was your typical jock, however, throughout the course of the show and after meeting Hales, he changed a lot. Nathan got to go to a college at the end and everything, seemingly, worked out for him and Haley.

New personality: He has changed a lot… After getting into a fatal fight in a bar, Nate got thrown out a window and he was left handicapped. After that everything changed for him and Haley had to support the family. The sneakers brand he was supposed to have fell

through because of the accident and Nathan fell into alcoholism and depression. At the start of season 5 he will fall in so deep that Hales will actually take little Jamie to Luke’s house so he wouldn’t see Haley and Nate fighting, and she threatens to leave him because of all of his problems and not trying to fix them.

Love interest(s): His love interest will be Haley, and nothing will change, however, they will be having some marital problems, and the new nanny will be interested in Nathan.

Haley James-Scott

Previously: Haley has been a nerd, a tutor, a rock star, a hostage, a mother… almost everything throughout the show and in each and every situation she remained true to herself and was very mature. When we left her off, she wasn’t sure how her life will go on.

New personality: When we see Haley she will be the most mature of the gang, being a mother to a 4 year old, while maintain a job as a teacher at Tree Hill High, yes, she will be a teacher, like she dreamed of (well that and being a rock star). She will be

the real soccer mother doing everything for her son, and she will also be having some problems with the new basketball star Quentin (yes, the same one as Luke). She will still rely on her friends a lot, especially on Luke. She and Peyton will (after a while) be having those nice conversations we’ve been missing and talks about music which we last saw in season 2.

Love interest(s): Her love interest will remain the same, but Jamie will also be sort of a love interest seeing how she will be taking a lot of care of him… etc…

Brooke Davis

Previously: At the start of the show Brooke was just another one of those slutty girls, but she changed and learned a lot about life, love… and loss. When we left her off she was going to L.A. to see her parents and she was the godmother to Jamie.

New personality : It seems that when she returns she will have lost her true self in all the limelight of N.Y. and success. She won’t have any real friends, but instead an assistant and a C.E.O. (who will in fact be her mother). She will just be going trough the motions until her return to TH stirs things up. When she returns she will

buy Karen’s Café and open a “C/B” store there. I believe that when she returns to TH and sees all of her old friends and familiar things she will remember her old personality and will become a better person because of it.

Love interest(s): Her love interest will be a new bartender working at “Tric”, but she will also have a few (fake) flings with some people in N.Y. She will no longer be against Leyton and will actually support it all the way.

Other things about the new season

Mouth is chasing his dream

Mark Schwahn said how this season will focus on the main five after a few seasons of focusing on everyone almost equally. Of the older cast members the only returning character will be Dan but the others will probably guest star. It has been confirmed that Whitey will re-appear. Rachel will return as well, but somewhere later in the season. We will meet Brooke’s mom, Victoria, after four season of absence and some new people like Carrie the nanny, Millicent, Brooke’s assistant, Oqen the new bartender at “Tric”, Lindsay, Luke’s editor, Alice, Mouth’s boss and Quentin the basketball star.

However, even though the main five will have more screen time and more focus, Skills and Mouth will also have an important part in this season.

This season sounds like it will be ace. Everything about it is great and it sounds well thought trough. All we can do now is wait for the 8th when we get two brand new episodes after a seven month wait!
