Vanessa Hudgens: Pushing it to the Limits

Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Anne Hudgens, was born in Salinas, California on December 14th 1988 and in 2006 she became something of a teen household name. But, of course, the transition from unknown to superstar didn’t happen overnight. She had roles before landing her big break; High School Musical.
She did her first commercial, filling in for a friend who could not make it, and so she also did some modeling before hitting ‘The Big Screen’. Her debut film was Thirteen in 2003 in which she played a friend of the lead character, then she starred in Thunderbirds in 2004.
It’s no wonder she got to play Gabriella Montez in High School Musical. But, what was the mystery song she sang for the audition? Well, she sang Jessica Simpson’s ‘Angels’; the song won her the part.
High School Musical made history for originality, and is still one of the best movies and soundtracks. But Vanessa, really didn’t think High School Musical would be such a success, “No, not from the very beginning, but growing up doing musical theatre and seeing that the Disney Channel was going to be doing a musical, that automatically sparked my interest. The fact that it hasn't been done in so long, it had to have some kind of hit on kids. Musicals are a great thing, but no one knew it was going to be this big. It has become a phenomenon.”
But, really, stars just can’t do a film without the occasional tongue twister and messed up lines, “It's not embarrassing, but just so funny, because I look back at it and think, "Wow, Vanessa, you were so stupid." There is a line in the movie where I see Troy for the first time in school and I say, "My mom's company transferred her here to Albuquerque." For some reason I could not say that line. I would get so tongue twisted and it's funny because I will watch it now and I have no idea why it was so hard for me back then.” We definitely hope that Vanessa will continue acting… so where will she want to be in the next five years? “My passion is doing movies, so as long as I keep doing that I will be happy. I want to be able to tackle good movies, fun roles, and dramatic things. I love all of it, so as long as I continue doing it, I will be more than happy.”

So people… I was able to find out what High School Musical 2 will be about. The film is said to be titled High School Musical: Sing it all or nothing The cast are currently touring London and revealed some information while there. The anticipated sequel is supposedly supposed to set be in Ryan and Sharpay’s country club.
"We're picking up not too far after we last saw [the cast]," writer Peter Barsocchini said. "School's out for summer! Let's see what happens when we take the guy who is king pin of his class and everyone else and put them in a different place!"
Producer Barry Rosenbush said he sees a musical number that incorporates golf carts, golf balls and dancing caddies! Producer Bill Borden agrees that the sequel is taking inspiration from classic musicals from the '30s and '40s.
‘High School Musical’ certainly wasn’t Vanessa’s first musical. She’s been appearing in them since she was 8 years old. She played main and supporting roles in Evita, Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, The King and I, The Music Man, Damn Yankees, and even Cinderella. We hope to see her in even more musicals in the future!
As you have probably heard, Vanessa is releasing her debut solo album, V. It dropped on September 26th. You can get it online at Amazon.com Here. From the future Top 40 hit, ‘Come Back To Me’ to ‘Say O.K’ , Vanessa’s album is sure to please audiences of all ages. I bought it already, and I’m sure rocking to it. I mean come on; you can’t refuse to listen to a good song! My personal favorite is ‘Baby Come Back’. Watch the video below.
Vanessa is signed to Hollywood Records and is labelmates with such artists as Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff and Jesse McCartney. She got offers from various labels before settling on Disney’s label.
I’m sure V will be the first of many albums she releases. Good Luck Vanessa!
