Veronica Mars, she’s watching you

Or at least you should be watching her. This critically acclaimed show is definitely not getting the attention it deserves. With the fresh cast, witty dialogue and interesting cases what’s not to love about this television masterpiece.

Veronica and murdered best
friend, Lilly Kane, played by
Amanda Seyfriend (Mean Girls).

The series begins with outcast Veronica Mars (Kristin Bell) trying to solve her best friend) and ex-boyfriend Duncan Kane (teddy Dunn) sister Lilly Kane’s (Amanda Seyfried) murder. You haven’t seen multitasking until you’ve seen this show.

Veronica investigates Lily’s murder while balancing sub-cases, helping her father (Enrico Colantoni), schoolwork and love. Veronica has various relationships throughout the season including ones with Troy Vandergraff (Aaron Ashmore), Deputy Leo (Max Greenfield) and mine along with the viewer’s favorite, Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring). As well Veronica makes some great new friends named Wallace Fennell (Percy Daggs III) and Cindy ‘Mac’ Mackenzie (Tina Majorino). So how does this season end? I’m not going to complete ruin it for those who are still trying to catch up, but I can tell you that it’s shocking.

All grown up:
Veronica graduates at
the end of season 2.

We move onto Season Two where Veronica has moved on from Logan Echolls to her former boyfriend Duncan Kane. We get to see more of Logan’s friends Dick Casablancas (Ryan Hansen) and Cassidy Casablancas (Kyle Gallner). The new mystery turns out to be a mysterious bus crash killing many students and leaving one, a former friend of Veronicas named Meg in a comatose state. So the question again for this season is ‘Who did it?’ Through all of this Duncan finds out that his ex girlfriend, Veronicas comatose friend Meg, is pregnant. When she dies, and the parents want Duncan to give up the baby he flees the country leaving Veronica behind. So how does this season end? Shocking, just like the first. Again, I’m not going to ruin it for you. Personally, and I know fans along with Jason Dohring agree, season two wasn’t as well written and interesting as the first.

Veronica and Logan
are finally together

Now we are in season 3, where the writing is more like season 1 and we see our favorite TV Couple back in action. We find our Neptune friends attending Hearst College where Veronica is reeled back into the P.I. world where she will solve plenty of interesting cases. So far we have been introduced to our first big case of the season, the Hearst Rape. We have also been introduced to two new characters Piz (Chris Lowell) and Parker (Julie Ganzalo). These characters are a nice addition to the show and act as the starting main and sub-cases for the new season.

So what’s so good about this show? Well like I said the cast is hot, fresh and dedicated. The writing is witty, enticing and it always leaves you begging for more. It’s not very recognized, but everyone I know who has begun to watch it, loves it. If you’re interested in criminology, private investigation, teen drama, romance, greatness, then this is the perfect show for you. Fans agree that if you start to watch it, you’ll fall in love with it. So what do you have to do? Watch it.
