Where Are They Now: Back to the Future
By Amanda (23, USA)

In 1985, Doctor Emmett Brown discovered a way to use his own garbage to power a vehicle that would travel through time. Marty McFly uses the vehicle to escape a dangerous situation, he accidentally sends himself to the past, and almost prevents his parents from falling in love. Back to the Future is a science fiction film that isn't for sci-fi geeks. It's a fun adventure that makes use of a convincing "time paradox," and a successful one at that. It would spawn two sequels and its own ride at the Universal Studios theme parks.

Michael J. Fox as Marty
Michael J. Fox is an actor who's name is truly synonymous with eighties comedy. His most well known projects (Family Ties, Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success) were all made in the decade of leg warmers and big hair. But the nineties also brought Doc Hollywood and The American President to the public, and gave him a return to TV with Spin City. In 2000, he announced that he was leaving the successful television series for health reasons; he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Though he has done a few guest starring spots, and some voice over work since then, Michael has mainly retired from acting. He now focuses on his health, and on working with organizations to help find a cure for his illness.

Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown
Christopher Lloyd has got to be one of the hardest working (and funniest) actors in Hollywood. Since his first turn as Doc Brown, he's had more than 100 more credits added to his resume, and he doesn't show any signs of slowing down. He played the kind of creepy, but still lovable Uncle Fester in The Adams Family films, took a turn as an Angel in the Outfield, and even let himself get animated for The Page Master And that was all before 1995. Post 1995, we're still looking at 70 projects, including a guest starring spot in his Future co-star's Spin City. He's really made a name for himself as a character actor, able to completely transform himself in small roles. You might have caught him in the most recent season of Chuck as Dr. Dreyfus. And he still has six projects currently in development that should all be released over the next couple of years. That is one busy man.

Lea Thompson as Lorraine Baines
Post Back to the Future, Lea's early film credits include Howard the Duck and Some Kind of Wonderful, two eighties classics. She also appeared in family films Dennis the Menace and The Little Rascals before landing her own television series Caroline in the City in the mid nineties. Following the show's cancellation, she starred as a detective in the short lived For the People, and then played the lead in a long list of Jane Doe made for TV movies. This year, she had a guest starring role in the hugely popular ABC Family series Greek, and she'll be making a return to feature films with six lined up to be released over the next couple of years.

Crispin Glover as George McFly
Back to the Future was filmed shortly after Crispin's decision to focus exclusively on films and leave television behind. The role made him an overnight success with its commercial appeal, but he opted not to appear in the sequels, preferring to do smaller, and more offbeat ones instead. Since making that decision, has appeared in almost forty projects, and of those, only three are television guest spots. He's done almost every kind of movie you can possibly think of, from the action of Twister to the drama of What's Eating Gilbert Grape and the comedy of Epic Movie. And though he has done a few very main stream projects over the last decade, he still prefers to play the quirkiest character in the film, like his turn as "Thin Man" in the Charlie's Angels films. he recently acted in two films that could not be more different, Alice in Wonderland and Hot Tub Time Machine. He's also dabbled in directing, writing, and producing, and has published several books.

Thomas F. Wilson as Biff Tannen
Thomas Wilson is just one of those people who enjoys working in the industry, no matter what the job is. He's written, he's produced, he's acted, he's done stand-up comedy, he's recorded a contemporary Christian album, he's done voice over work for cartoons and video games. He's just about done it all. Some of the voice over work he's done includes Gargoyles, Ahh! Real Monsters, Superman, and Pepper Ann. He also appeared in a six episode arc of the critically acclaimed Freaks and Geeks, and that led to numerous guest spots on television shows over the following decade. His most recent credits include Ghost Whisperer, Psych, and Big Love. He doesn't currently have any acting projects lined up, but since he's active in so many other fields, including that of a professional painter, he's sure to turn up on your radar some time soon.
