Hey, I'm Emily. I'm a senior in high school. I want to major in journalism. I'm usually watching or at a hockey game. When I'm not, I'm watching a movie - I'm a huge movie freak - or on the computer. I love all kinds of music, especially country. Taylor Swift is more than a role model to me, and I wouldn't be who I am today without her and her music. I own Dress Like Taylor, the first and leading Taylor Swift style site. I'm a city girl, and I hope to live in New York one day. I love writing, and it would be a dream of mine to become a successful magazine editor. I hope that one day I can achieve that goal.

On The Road to Eating Healthy Columnist

I was born on April 27 and I've always loved writing. Writing has always been a passion for me. It's something I've found relaxing and a way to get away from everything else. During my spare time I like to hang out with my family and listen to music. My favorite animal is a seal. Any kind, it doesn't matter, I love them all. I am currently attending High School and I'm not sure what I want to major in. I've gone from medical to law and many others. Now it's down to either journalism or the arts. I might double major but I doubt it. Here are some fun facts about me:
My favorite artist is Alexz Johnson. She's amazing and really knows how to touch a person's heart with her music.
I'm a really great cook. Some people come over and hesitate before eating one of my meals, but before they know it they're at my door everyday wanting something else. I also make killer burritos!
Nutrition is one of my main hobbies/passion (besides journalism). I'm always eating healthy and looking for new information to learn and I can't wait to share with all of you everything I know, it's going to blow your mind!
As much as I love being healthy, I'm not a big exerciser. I'm in pretty good shape, but sometimes I can be a real procrastinator and I'm really lazy. As important as it is to exercise, I always find a reason not to do it.

About me: Not to make it at all cliche, I'm a 17 year old British girl who hopes to go into the media industry, hence why I decided to be a writer for Portrait Magazine. I've been reading Portrait Magazine for a couple years now and seeing as I only have one more year left until I go to university, I figured as much experience as I can gather for my future career will benefit me in the long run.
I absolutely love my movies and have to admit, I'm a self-confessed movie geek.! If I had to pick my favourite movie right now, I'd be sitting here thinking for an extremely long time.! But I do have a favourite actor; Leonardo DiCaprio. Titanic was the first, real movie I ever saw which didn't contain talking animals or mermaids (Disney) and DiCaprio stuck in my head forever. Also admire Matt Damon, Katherine Heigl and Zoe Saldana.
My music taste consists of mostly indie/rock/alternative music (but never metal.!) and a few select hip/hop/RnB artists.
Tennis and Baseball are my favourite sports and I play at my local tennis courts every Saturday with a close friend. My secret aspiration is to travel to as many places as I have on my "Places To Go To Before I Die" list.
