Phil Stacey

Phil Stacey

Perhaps you have heard the name Phil Stacey before. The thirty-year-old country singer was first discovered on the award-winning show, American Idol.

Phil Stacey was on American Idol’s sixth season. He was knocked off the show on May 2nd, 2007, after being in the bottom three for four weeks. This is the second-highest number of times in the bottom three. The week he was knocked off, was the week after Idol’s major show: Idol Gives Back.

Although he did not win, big things were, and still are, expected from him. He signed with Lyric Street Records in late 2007. He has already released his first single: “If You Didn’t Love Me.” The single was released January 7, 2008. On April 6th, 2008, Phil’s single was number thirty-five on the American Country Countdown Top 40.

He served in the United States Navy as a Musician Third Class. He has also received a degree from Lee University for vocal performance. Many people from watching last year’s show, remembered him as the guy who missed his daughter’s birth. He missed McKayla’s birth due to auditioning for American Idol in late 2006.

Since Idol, Phil has performed at many different events, including two NFL football games, Carnegie Hall, and Scott Hamilton’s ice skating benefit. He is currently touring with many different people, in many different locations.

Phil Stacey was great on American Idol. Even though he was knocked off of the show early, Phil has become a big hit on the country radio and charts already. In future years to come, Phil will most likely be topping the country radio charts and winning some Country Music Awards.

Pick up his self-titled album on April 29th.
