I have been a member of the Portrait team for over 5 years now, and I'm so glad to be a part of this awesome magazine! Currently, I am a Free Spirit writer as well as a blogger for this website. I am a college freshman from California and have been living here for the majority of my life. I love to write, read, watch TV, volunteer around my community, spend time with my friends and family, shop, talk, and surf the internet. My favorite color is blue, I love animals, and I spend way too much time on the computer (:

I'm really excited to be a part of Portrait Magazine. I have a BA in Literature from Bard College and I'm currently a student at Columbia University where I'm getting my Master's in Teaching and Curriculum. I love to write and I've hard my short stories and articles published in a few places. You can read some of my writing at my website (link is below). Ideally I'd love to be able to make my living as a writer someday. My favorite leisure activity is reading. I'm always reading something and I always have at least one book nearby. My tastes range from mysteries to chick lit to YA to classics and everything in between. If you want to talk books, talk to me! I'm also a major theater geek, a movie buff, a music lover, a TV watcher, and hopefully a cool person.

I'm a college student working on a degree in History and English. I absolutely love to write, have published one book, "Dream Peddler" last year, and I'm working on more. I'm a big reading buff and consider Dracula to be my favorite book. I'm always editing my friends' papers so proofreading is the perfect place for me. My goals are to become a published enough writer that I don't have to work a normal job and can travel the world. Otherwise, I'm pretty much a walking contradiction. I love sports and superhero movies but could spend hours in a Sephora. Musically, my favorite bands are The Who, The Clash, Green Day, Oasis and Blink 182. However, you'll usually find McFly, Bruce Springsteen, or Jonas Brothers in my cd player. Mostly, I firmly believe that if you're going to be a fan of something or someone...you should go all out! Life is way too short to never get ridiculously excited about something you love.
