How did your acting career start?
Well ever since I was really little, I’ve always wanted to be an actress. I’d watch movies and dream of being the star in them. I would tell my mum that all the time, so eventually I got an agent in Georgia [where’s I’m from] and their sister agency is here in California. We decided to venture out to California for pilot season, so for about 3 months. I booked my first episode of the Bernie Mac Show and then I just kept booking and booking, so we ended up staying out here in California.
So which do you prefer, Georgia or California?
I love both! California is where I live now, so I have many friends here and I have a home here. But I have a lot of family back in Georgia and it’s still my home town!
What are the best parts/worst parts of acting?
I can’t find anything wrong with acting! It’s my absolute favourite thing to do in the world! The best thing is meeting new people! Every time you go on a new set, you meet new people, you make friends, it’s awesome! Also creating another life is amazing!
What future projects can we expect you in?
Well recently I became an ambassador for the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation which I was so excited about! Also there are two new Roxy Hunter movies coming out. I’ve also been working on songs for each DVD. We’re working for two songs for each DVD.
So you sing as well! Have you been singing as long as you’ve been acting?
I have! I love to sing!
Are you going to continue singing in the future, or is acting your main priority?
I’d love to do both!
Who’s the coolest celebrity you’ve met?
Hilary Duff was incredible! She’s such a sweet, humble girl and I love her!
Who do you most want to work with?
I’ve always admired Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Renée Zellweger, Nicole Kidman…there are so many! As a male, I’d love to work with Johnny Depp!
How do you balance your acting career and your regular life?
I am home schooled but I go every Wednesday to this thing called Community Day and I hang out with my friends all the time, go shopping, I go to church, I have a curfew…I’m just a normal kid who happens to be an actress!
What advice would you give upcoming actors?
Follow your dreams and always believe in yourself! Never give up!
Tell us about the Roxy Hunter movies.
Roxy Hunter is a little girl who loves to solve mysteries. Mysteries just seem to find her. She loves to solve them! In the first movie, she’s moving from New Jersey to upstate New York and she’s really mad because she doesn’t want to leave her life behind. But when she gets there, she finds a mystery in the new house and gets excited! In the next movie, she’s more settled in and she’s got more friends.
Are you anything like Roxy?
Very similar! We’re practically identical!
Is it hard playing a character younger than yourself?
Well not really…we’re only a year apart!
Did you have any embarrassing moment on set?
Recently, when we were filming Roxy Hunter and the Horrific Halloween, I had to get coleslaw thrown into my face and it was so embarrassing! We had to do that scene four times! It was funny yet embarrassing!
Out of all the four movies, which was your favourite to film?
Roxy Hunter and the Horrific Halloween because I got to get all dressed up, and there was so much action and adventure!
