Could you start by telling us alittle about yourself?
Sure. My name is Ashley Rose and Im 18 years old and live in NJ. I recently graduated HS and am preparing to start college in September. Im going to major in Musical Theater at Montclair State University.
I made my first singing appearance when I was just 4 years old and Ive been hooked ever since! Since that time, I appeared at many venues throughout the NY area and even got to sing at Madison Square Garden twice! I was a finalist of the NBC TV Show, Americas Most Talented Kid in 2003.

Do you have any albums out yet? If so tell us about it/them?
My debut CD, Blind to the Light, will be available soon. The CD includes a collection of songs that chronical the journey of my teen years.

Do you write your own songs also?
I write all the lyric and music to all my songs.

Which one of your songs is your favorite so far and why?
Hmmm, thats tough cause theyre all special to me for different reasons. If I had to pick one off the CD, I guess Id say This is Me because it was one of the first songs I wrote when I was 14.

Do you like to write, record, or perform better and why?
I honestly enjoy them all. I love writing because it allows me to express myself. Writing songs has gotten me through a lot of tough times and has helped me celebrate good times. Recording is awesome! I love going into the studio and seeing my music come to life. When a few chords on the guitar and scribbled lyric on a notepad transforms into a full blown song, it really is an amazing feeling!
And there is no greater high than performing on stage! Especialyl since I put my new band together. They Rock and Im right at home with them!

Do you get nervous before going on stage?
Sometimes. But its a good nervous. More excited I guess.

What do you do to prepare for a show?
Lots of practice!! I like to know Im fully prepared or every show.

Do you have any tours coming up?
Right now I am touring in my area. I have shows booked throughout the fall in NY and NJ, but hope to expand my tour to include other cities soon!

Tell us a little about your style!
My style would be considered Pop/Rock. Ive been compared to Jewel, Kelly Clarkson and Sheryl Crow. I think my music definitely has a strong Jewel influence, but is unique at the same time.

Do you like acting as well?
I love acting! Im completely passionate about it! I actually received a scholarship to a Dramatic Acedemy in NYC, but decided to attend a college instead.

If you were giving one peice of advice to aspiring singers what would it be?
Sing because you love it, not for the fame. Let the music be your inspiration to succeed in everything you do and never let anything get in the way of achieving your goals.Stay focused and sing everywhere you can. Always realize you can do more and be better. Expect nothing but the best from yourself in all area of your life and be prepared for anything!

Yes, I want them to know that I have been over whelmed by their support and feel so lucky to have them rooting for my success! Im grateful that they like my music and I hope theyll keep listening.
