Could you start by telling us alittle about yourself?
I am 16 years old and I was born and raised in California. I have been performing in public since age 4. I love singing, acting, dancing, writing music, playing guitar. I as well as my 5 other family members, are all black belts in Tae Kwon Do! I just signed on as the official spokesperson for the new “Milk Rocks” campaign, which was designed to increase milk consumption among youth and promote healthy living. So starting this month I will be on hundreds of millions of milk cartons going into the schools! And no, I’m not a missing child ;)

How did you get your singing start?
I honestly can’t remember a time when I haven’t loved to sing. As long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a recording artist. When I was 3 years old I watched my older sister go to kids choir at my church and I kept begging my mom to let me go but I was 2 years too young. The next year my mom went up to the director and asked if she could make an exception and let me into the choir a year early and she did because I paid attention so well. About a month later she asked if anyone wanted to sing a solo in church, I raised my hand and ended up singing my first solo at church at age 4! They haven’t been able to stop me ever since.

Do you also write your own songs?
I do write my own songs. I love songwriting; it’s a way to express myself in a very powerful way. I think it also means a lot more singing songs that I wrote because then I’m singing about things that mean something to me personally, things I have been through myself.

Do you have any albums out yet if so tell us a little bit about it/them.
My first CD was suppose to come out in September on an indie label but now it looks like I ‘ll be signing with a major label and putting out an EP in October with a full CD in January.. The style of the music is pop/rock with a tiny bit of an r&b feel to it. You can hear some of the tracks on my website :www.britneychristian.com or my myspace page www.myspace.com/britneychristian

Which one of your songs is your favorite and why?
That’s a hard question… I love all my songs for different reasons. But I think I would have to go with “This is the Life” because of the story behind it. For the last 3 years I have gone on a mission trip with my church down to the tenderloin district of San Francisco, which is home to hundreds of homeless and drug addicts. We would go out on the streets each night with hot chocolate and just talk with them and build friendships. It just blew my mind how grateful and appreciative they all are. Being there helped me realize how much we take for granted, how much we have and just don’t see because we are always wanting more. I wrote “This is the Life” as an inspiration for people to not let life pass them by without taking the time to be thankful for what they have. And I also like Stupid Boyfriends because it’s such a common theme and I’ve never heard a song about it.

Which part of the process do you enjoy most writing, recording, or performing live and why?
Another hard question!! Well I love doing all of those things but my favorite thing to do is performing live. I absolutely love performing, can’t get enough of it.

Would you ever consider entering a singing competition such as American Idol?
I would love to but I don’t believe I am eligible anymore because of all the producers I have worked with and because of the “Milk Rocks” promotion I have going on.

Who are some of your role models?
Vocally, my role models include Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. As far as the people in my life whom I strive to be like, my mom takes first place.

What is next with your music career?
My full length cd is scheduled to come out early January 2007 but I will be releasing a single on itunes and a EP towards the end of 2006. In addition to that the “Milk Rocks” campaign has me touring around the United States all throughout the next school year so I am very excited for that!

Do you like to be on the internet a lot? What websites do you enjoy to visit?
I do love being on the Internet. I am pretty much addicted to Myspace, which is good for my career because it helps me gain thousands of fans! Another site I am on a lot is yahoomusic to check out all the music videos and other upcoming artists.

What type of shows do you enjoy to watch?
I don’t have much time to sit around watching tv but right now I’m really hooked on “So you think you can dance?”. I am hardly ever home to watch it so it’s a bummer.

If you could give one peice of advice to aspiring singers what would it be?
If you really want it than don’t let anything or anybody stop you. There is tons of rejection to face in this business and they will be tons of people telling you that you will never make it. Just keep doing what you love to do and always make sure you are still having fun!

Thank you for your time! Is there anything you want your fans to know?
Thank you all for your support and for spreading the word about my music! Be sure to check out my new website: www.britneychristian.com and visit my Myspace page, www.myspace.com/britneychristian and add me as a friend!
