Hey! May you please introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Cameron Bright. I have one brother, Bryce, 2 dogs
Myloh (Standard Poodle) and Phoebe (long hair Chihuahua) and a cat,
Figarro. My mum's name is Anne.
What got you into acting?
My mum signed me and my brother up for going into commercials when I
was 6 yrs old. She thought it would be a great way to save for our
education. I got my first commercial for Telus 2 weeks after that and
my first lead in a feature (Godsend) 2 years later.
What are your inspirations when you work?
My inspiration when I work is just to do the best I can.
Which has been your favourite role to play and why?
My favourite roles so far have been Running Scared and Thank You for
Smoking. I really hate to watch myself in movies but I enjoyed
watching these movies so much that I forgot I was in them. I hope
that makes sense to you.
What are the ups and downs of the business in your opinion?
Their is only one down for me and that is I have to do a minimum of 3
hours schooling every day plus work. Child actors don’t get the rest
time that the adults do. It gets very tiring to work and then
immediately go to the tutor during camera turn around time instead of
getting a cat nap. The ups, there are many but the tops for me is that I love meeting new friends and the travelling.
Though you're only young, you're already very famous. How does that feel?
Famous feels just like being Cameron. I have not changed at all and
still have the same very close friends. My mum makes sure that I stay Me.
What are your hopes for 2007?
My hopes for 2007 for my acting would be to finally get a movie that
younger children can go see. So far all my movies have been mature or
R rated and so most of my fans are adult. That is fine with me but I
am still a kid myself and would like to be in a kids movie.
Who are your role models and why?
My role models in my personal life are my family because family is
what grounds me. For actors it is Bob DeNiro. He is an amazing man
and friend and has given me and my mum great advise. For actresses it
is Nicole Kidman. She is my other mother.
What has been the scariest/most embarrassing thing that you've ever had to do on set?
I have had no scary or embarrassing moments on set.
You’ve met a lot of cool people through your line at work. Out of all of them, who are your top ones and why?
Everyone that I have worked with has been great in some way.
Each movie just gets better. I cant say which one is better than the
other. I just remember the fun I had on the last day that I wrapped
Boy of Pigs. I requested litres of diet coke and packs of mentos so
the teamsters went out and got me some. The crew and I had a blast
shooting them off in the park across the road.
If you could do anything for one day, what would it be?
If I could do anything for one day that would be to get together with
my friends Chris Bacon, Tierre Brown and Rashard Lewis, eat "Hood"
sandwiches and shoot hoops after.
What’s the nicest thing a fan has said to you?
Anything a fan says to me has special meaning. I appreciate the
support very much.
Do you support any charities? If yes, which ones and why?
My current charity is Juvenille Diabetes Research Fund because I am a
child and I have two friends (Brothers Jake and Josh) who both have
it. Jake was diagnosed while I was filming Birth and 3 years later
his brother Josh was.
Tell us a random fact about you.
A random fact about me would be the scar in my left eyebrow.
When I was 18 months my brother Bryce was chasing me and I ran through
one of my mum's rose bushes and cut it with a long thorn. My mum taped it together and it healed.
Are you currently single and what do you look for in a girl?
Yes I am single. I dont know what I would look for in a girl. I am
not even thinking about that yet.
