Your next project is the highly anticipated sequel to ‘Twilight’ - ‘New Moon’. Can you tell us a little about the film and your character?
The next film is primarily about when Edward leaves Bella and her friendship grows stronger with Jacob, who becomes a werewolf. My character is Sam Uley, the alpha male of the wolf pack.

Sam is an interesting character whose world was recently turned upside down. He has some big responsibility and some big regrets. What did you draw upon to convey and relate to the character?
I drew inspiration from the book, Twilight websites and my own personal experiences.

What things do you have in common with Sam and in what ways are you absolute opposites?
Actually I have to admit I’m moody...and I don’t like being a leader. I’m a loner. So opposites!

Joining the Twilight Saga cast in the second film, you became part of a cast who had known each other and worked together for some time. How was your experience being incorporated into the group?
It felt like freshman year in high school. You’re coming into a new world, a new set of rules. It’s a whole new game, but everyone has been very supportive.

When did you first become aware of Twilight?
When I was auditioning for the film.

You recently attended the New Jersey Twilight convention. How did you find the experience?
I love Jersey. The people there are very energetic.

What is your schedule like for the next couple of months? Will you be touring to promote ‘New Moon’?
It’s going to be very busy. We start filming “Eclipse” in September, and touring after. I am also involved with the charity, Global Shift United, and I own my own production company, Urban Dreams.

I hear you did your own stuns for the cliff-diving scene in ‘New Moon’. Had you had any experience with the sport prior to shooting?
I did my own stunts in previous films I worked on, but cliff-diving was a new experience!

You started out in acting working in theatre in New York. Is theatre something you plan or hope to return to at some point in the near future?
I love theater. I want to keep it really close to my heart...I’ll never leave. The stage is a place where you can really hone your craft.

If you were able to star in a remake of any movie, which one would it be and which role would you choose?
“Hud,” I’d play Hud.

What has been your best career related experience so far?
To being able to give back to those less fortunate.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in acting, what other careers could you see yourself in?
I would definitely be a photographer!

What are the best and worst things about working in the entertainment industry in your opinion?
The best thing would be the ability to take on different characters. I love to act as someone other than myself . The worst part would be losing my animosity, but I understand it comes with the territory.

What are your hopes – both professionally and personally – for the rest of the 2009?
To create important, meaningful projects and films and to continue my work with United Global.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Goofy, ninja..hmm. Can’t think of a third. Indecisive? (Laughs).

What are your passions/concerns for the world?
The conservation of water and to create awareness of environmental issues. To help people understand that there are cheap alternatives that are environmentally friendly.
