Before we start could you please introduce yourself to our readers?
I am Mark Robey, 31, Taurus, husband to Beth and father to 7 yr old Sydney. I LOVE to watch and play baseball!!! If I weren't doing music for a living I would definately be playing baseball. You may ask, "what is your favorite team?" I would answer, "is there any other team than the St.Louis Cardinals?" One of these days I really want to skydive. I love to fly and drive fast! Favorite movie? Armeggedon. Favorite food? Anything Italian.
Well, MY name is Carrie Coffey. I'm 26, married (Dane's his name), and I love to bake cookies. Yeah, I know it's not healthy. =) I don't really like to drive fast, but I do want to skydive. I MUST visit Australia before I die, and if I could live anywhere in the world? It'd be Tuscany. I'd have lots of olive groves and vineyards and sing Italian music all day like the movies. Heheh... =)

Where does the name 'Jacob's road' come from?
"jacob's road" is (for us) a reminder of God's faithfulness and His infinite grace! Jacob was a man in the Old Testament who was blessed by God. And yet, Jacob's life was a roller coaster that was full of bumps and potholes (most of which were caused by Jacob's own sinful actions!) However, throughout his life, the hand of God was always with Jacob. Over and over again, God said to Jacob, "I will be with you!" The Lord made a promise to Jacob and his forefathers, and He was forever faithful to His word. Jacob was indeed blessed by God, and he became the father of the twelve tribes of Israel. As we walk our road of life, we can certainly count on the fact that we will have troubles, and we will mess up. God will never leave our side for a moment. Jacob's road, your road, my road--our paths are wrought with adversity, but God is faithful, and His love and grace will! endure forever and ever.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn't heard it before?
Most of the songs came from sermon points our pastor made at one time or another. All of the songs deal with REAL LIFE ISSUES we have faced along our journey as Christians. We sing about what we believe--and how what we believe has made a difference in our lives. As far as sound goes? Well, we've been compared to everyone from Natalie Merchant to Plumb to Jennifer Knapp to Alannis Morisette.

What is something you stand for and strongly believe it?
The supremacy of Christ!!! He alone is everything! In Him are all things good and merciful. He IS a never ending source of unfailing love!

What is your biggest dream for your music career?
To see lives changed! Entertainment isn't everything. We believe these songs are meant to affect lives in a positive way, to urge people to pursue a life of joy and love given THROUGH the life, death and resurrection of Jesus!

Do you write any of your songs? If so, what do you enjoy writing about the most?
Yes. REAL life. Things that everyone can relate to... that's what we love, because we need to connect with people, don't we? C.S. Lewis once said something like this, "Friendship begins at the point when one person looks at another and can say, 'oh! you too?' " We need to relate to each other about the good AND the bad things in our lives...

On your album, do you each have a particular song that is your favorite? Could you tell us a little about them?
Mark: My favorite has to be Track #1 "Scream." It speaks about how absolutely NOTHING can separate us form God's love for us!!!! And the arrangements just kick my butt!
Carrie: My favorite changes a lot, but right now it has to be "I Choose Trust." That one's a real personal statement for me, because it deals with having peace in the middle of the bad things that come our way... the peace that can only come from Jesus.

I love 'Run Away', could you tell us a little more about the meaning and story behind that song?
Well, thank you! That's such a fun song. Here's a little inside scoop about the actual writing process on this one-- Carrie was SO sick with a stomach virus! She kept singing, "I just want to run away!" while we were writing it. heh... As for the MEANING of the song? Psalm 139 says it better than we can. There's nowhere we can run to escape the presence and the love of our Father...(and that's a good thing!)

Is there any person/group in the music industry you'd really like to work with?
Mark: Tait, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Darlene Zschech.
Carrie: I would do about anything to work with Sarah Mclachlan. She's amazing. Even if I could, oh I dunno...hold her water or bring her mic to her? ;)

What are some countries you hope your music career will allow you to visit?
Mark: Australia!! New Zealand, Italy, South Africa, any South Pacific island country!!!
Carrie: What he said. I'd also like to go to Scotland and Japan, too. How interesting would that be?? =)

As far as the musical process goes do you prefer writing songs or performing them?
Mark: Performing. I get to see how a song affects someone. I get to see what people are really dealing with in their lives.
Carrie: I completely agree. It's all about connecting with people and building relationships through the music... there's nothing like it!

Whats coming up for your band in the future? Any tours?
We are gearing up to do a TV program in Canada (March 17/18) We are planning a tour with a Christian comedian through the Carolinas in June/July with a visit to Georgia, Florida, Alabama, East Tenneesee. Lots of other items in the works to be updated on our website at: (www.jacobs-road.com)

Where could we buy a copy of your album, is it in stores?
The record is only available online: www.jacobs-road.com. and www.cdbaby.com. We have local distribution around our hometown but nothing nationally as of yet. Thank God for the internet!! =)

Just to finish off, is there anything in particular you'd like to say to the people reading this?
Don't let anyone ELSE tell you what you're worth!
Know your identity in Christ. Know how and what God thinks about you. Look up Psalms 139:1-18 for starters. (Go see The Passion of the Christ. He sent His son to suffer that for YOU.) Finally, be real with each other. Don't be afraid to have close friends. Let people into your heart. You don't have to do life alone! Thanks, everyone!
