She may only be seven years old, but age hasn’t stopped this young rising star from taking the world by storm! Jasmine Alveran recently had her debut role as Earth Girl in the Sony Pictures movie “Michael Jackson’s This Is It”. She has been going non-stop ever since landing her first role along side the legendary Michael Jackson. Attending auditions since she was three, Jasmine has been chasing after her dream of becoming an actress, and from what we can see, this is definitely just the beginning of her road to success. We recently chatted with the adorable child star, who dished to Portrait secrets like hoping to do a project with one of her role models, Selene Gomez. Here’s what Jasmine had to say!

Hi Jasmine! How are you?
I’m good!

What have you been up to?
Um, nothing really, I’m just hanging around with my mom.

What was it like working with the legendary Micheal Jackson?
Well, it was amazing working with him, and I was privileged to be with Micheal on stage.

What was your favourite part about playing Earth Girl?
My favourite part was playing with all the animals and butterflies. It was fun!

How did you feel when you got the part?
It was really amazing getting that part.

What was it like attending your first movie premier?
It was really fun going to my first movie premier. I got to meet wonderful people. It was really amazing.

What was the most exciting part about getting your first job?
It was really fun, and then it started to get better and better. And people were really nice to me on set when I was doing my work.

Were you excited to work with Kenny Ortega?
It was really fun meeting Kenny and doing the set with Kenny.

Were you excited because he did High School Musical?
I was really excited because I’d never seen High School Musical before.

Oh yeah? Which were your favourite songs?
All of them! I like all of them.

Which High School Musical was your favourite? The first, second, or third?
The second, because I like when they go on vacation.

So how did you get the part of Earth Girl?
They saw my picture and they loved it and they wanted to see me in person.

How did that feel when they loved your picture so much that they called you in?
It was really exciting!

When did you know you wanted to be an actress?
When I was four, I went down to auditions, and it was fun!

What do you want to be when you are older? Do you want to continue acting?
Probably, but I’m really looking forward to being a veterinarian because I love animals.

Oh yeah? Do you have any pets?
Yeah, I have two dogs.

Do you like playing with them?
Yeah, it’s really fun playing with my dogs. Their names are Maximus and Trinity.

Do they come with you to work or do they have to stay at home?
They have to stay at home.

Do you miss them?
Yeah, but they’re still at home and at five o’clock I’m going home with my mom.

What is your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?
I guess Hula, on Sundays, and jump rope, and acting classes on Saturday.

Are you good at Hula dancing?
Yeah, I am good at that.

Is it a lot of fun to do? Is it hard to learn?
It’s a lot of fun when you’re learning a different kind of dancing. No, it’s not that hard.

Now, what is one thing that you really love?
I like pets!

What’s your favourite food?
Sushi!

Why sushi?
Just because! It’s really good.

What is your favourite thing to do with your friends?
My favourite thing to do with my friends is play with them. We like to jump rope, and we make up games that we can play.

What’s your favourite TV show?
My favourite TV show is iCarly.

Oh yeah? Who’s your favourite character?
My favourite character is Miranda Cosgrove. And I got to meet her.

Oh wow! Was that exciting?
That was really exciting that I met her.

So what’s your favourite movie?
My favourite movie is…wow there’s lots of them! The Micheal Jackson movie for sure.

Who is the coolest famous person you have met?
I think Corbin Bleu.

Oh yeah? You like him from High School Musical?
Yeah, I do.

Which celebrity do you want to meet the most?
Zac Efron. I didn’t get to meet him.

What show would you love to be on?
iCarly!

If you could choose any celebrity to work with, who would you choose?
Selena Gomez!

Oh yeah? You’re a big fan of hers?
Yeah!

That’s cool! Who else would you like to work with?
Demi Lovato, and Miranda Cosgrove.

Do you feel like your life has changed ever since you became known as Earth Girl?
I just go to a lot more auditions.

Is that fun? Do you like going to auditions?
I don’t like it, I LOVE going to auditions!

What is your favourite part about being an actress?
My favourite part about being an actress is getting to use imagination while you’re acting, and if something goes wrong or you don’t do something right, then you can always do something to fix it.

What are your dreams and plans for the future?
I have the movie; I have a lot of stuff going on in my future.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
Now I’m just going to auditions.

Do you think you might start singing?
Yeah, I think I might sing.

What is the one thing you want to do the most if you had the chance?
I would be a veterinarian.
