DC GAMES
Did you have fun?
Oh yeah! They were so much fun!!!
What games did you play?
I played the obstacle course, super soccer, dunk tank, Simon says which I think was the most intense out of all of them! I think that’s it…I can’t think of anything else!
Best part of the games
Getting to meet all these people from across the globe!! They had people from Spain, France, etc! It was such an international experience! It was like going all over the world, yet never leaving Disney World. It was amazing!
Any bad parts?
It was really hot! It’s hard work. But for me, the fun of it blocked out how hot it was and sometimes how physically exhausting it was! Super soccer…it’s a big ball! It takes a lot of effort to move it and everyone goes for the ball! It was really crazy! It was a lot of fun!
Biggest rival?
Mitchel Musso is pretty competitive and we hung out a bit off the court so he’s definitely competitive so it was a lot of fun to compete against him! He could be considered a rival…
Which team where you on?
I was on the yellow team and we had Kyle Massey and Emily Osment. Then we had some people from Spain, France and Brazil and some others.
Best team mate
I know that me and Emily had the same minds. We’re both pretty competitive but we didn’t play in too many games together. We were however definitely on the same page. Cole from France was one of the most energetic people and when we played super soccer together, he was really intense; he was like a driving force. He kept the team going!
ACTING
Hint about future episodes of Cory in the house
Newt gets a crush on a really smart girl, there’s some fiasco at the treasury involving gold, and some more which you will see…
Coolest celeb you’ve met
One of the ones that have stood out is Mel Gibson. I worked with him on Complete Savages a while back. He was seriously really nice! Such a down to earth person! And as a director, he had some incredible methods!! If the 5 of us didn’t have enough volume, he’d make us sing our lines like opera! Or if we didn’t have enough energy, he’d make us do laps around the set! If we weren’t annunciating very clearly, he made us speak in thick, Italian accents. It was so funny!
Who do you most want to work with?
Either Robert Redford or Liam Neeson. They’re my two favourite actors and getting to play a role opposite them, I’d be in heaven! I think they’re some of the best!
What’s your dressing room like in Cory In the House?
I tried to style it a bit like Newt’s character. I have a wavy colourful rug in there, I put some flip covers on the couches, put some pictures up, I have a picture of me and Mickey mouse in there. I put some big red mushroom chairs. I styled it after Newt!
Best moment during filming
Definitely when I got to go on the rope ladder on the helicopter. I didn’t get to go very high but it was a great scene and a great moment for Newt!
Most embarrassing moment on set
The moment turned into a day. I had to dress up like an alien and for the most of the day I was in the head part; my face was painted green and I had a big old rubber head dress on. So we had that on and then normal clothes underneath; just a t-shirt and jeans. It was an odd picture. So I wasn’t sure whether I should hide or run around and get reactions off people!
Ever had a Crush on someone on set?
That’s one of those things that is a little bit dangerous. You have to not do that, especially if you’re working on something like Cory in the House, where you see the same people every day and you could see for the next 4 years. You never know. If there’s some kind of drama, then you have to work with that person every day and it could get awkward! So it’s best not to mix work life and love life together!
Favourite co-star
It’s gotta be Kyle Massey. He has this endless source of energy! I don’t know where he gets it but when he’s working, he’s always energetic and really funny! When we’re doing rehearsal, he’ll add in a line that wasn’t in the script and it would be funny and when they re-write the script, the line will be in there! He’s really spontaneous and always has energy! It’s amazing.
Ever had weird reactions about who you are?
I was actually at a science fair not too long ago and one of my favourites was when I was walking out of the big old gym door and I was carrying my display board and a girl was walking in, and she saw me and gasped really loudly! It was kind of funny! And all my friends and teacher were laughing the whole time!
Have you ever read bad stuff about you in the media?
There was one crazy rumour that I don’t even remember where I saw it or how it started! But I once read that I had been arrested for drunk driving! I’m 15 and I don’t even have my license! It was the most random and obscure thing I’ve ever read!
Has money and success changed you?
I’m definitely the same Jason! The only thing acting has changed about me, is that it’s given me a better comfort in myself and more confidence when I talk to people. As a person, it hasn’t changed me at all. My family have done a good job in keeping me grounded and I had a normal life before and I still have that now. Having friends that aren’t related with acting is really important to keep me grounded.
Is it hard to balance your acting career and normal life?
It gets hard sometimes! Some months are just really busy and when duty calls, duty calls and you have to answer the call! When I’m working on Cory in The House, I know the schedule pretty well so I can organize things better because I know the weekends are free etc. sometimes they’ll call you and tell you to go somewhere for a promo, which is cool but if you were going to see a friend that day, you can’t. That’s when it gets hard. Like you were going to go toa party but you have an audition. There’s always another chance though.

Spiderman! No question about it!

Not yet. I am starting next year! Working on Cory in the House and going to regular school is just hard and it would be a lot easier if I were home schooled.

I think so. It will be different…home school is a different experience but when I’m working on Cory in the House, I don’t think I’ll miss it.
What are your concerns for the world?
Prejudices are definitely a problem! Jumping to conclusions fits in with that and it’s something everyone struggles with. Uneducated biases are really pervasive.
