I'm Jazmin Whitley, 18. Los Angeles Ca & I'm
a fashion designer. I design for the Li Cari label
What got you started in designing?
I was always interested in design. I love
fashion and it has always been part of my life
So when and how did you make the big
move and start designing as a career?
well in my last two years of high school I
started wokring on my first collection
and I was a part of the Catwalk for Charity www.catwalkforcharity.com along with
designers such as Pucci, Missoni, Valentino
and Blumarine
Wow nicee! So how did you eventually
start designing for Li Cari?
Well, Li Cari is my label. I created it
What steps did you take to create it and how did it get started?
I started by designing one of a kinds for clients, then I worked on my
first full collection and launched it at the end of fashion week 2006
Do you have any well known clients?
yesss. Blu Cantrell, Monet Monico (I do all her red carpet events and
designed & styled her for her tour shes on). Michelle Stafford, Alex M
from MTVs "Laguna Beach" and Victoria Justice "Zoey 101" and
Christian Serratos "neds declassified" Aimee teegarden "friday night
lights & Sara carter "sharks", Erika Rose, Gabrielle Christian "south
of nowhere" and sharron woodward "the riches"
What are the highlights of your career so far?
Catwalk for charity because I got to show with such amazing designers
and my label tour that I’m on right now.
And the worst parts?
Ahhhh lol. I can't really think of any.
What has been [in your opinion] the best outfit you have
designed?
I love them alll! lol I really love this skirt & top I did right now. I have
a picture on myspace of it here
What are your favourite colours to work in?
It depends what for. spring/summer?fall/winter? but I love black.
Do you have a specific style or just whatever comes to mind?
I think my stuff if girly, I love to work with lace & silk and I love bows
