Hey Jeremy! Thanks for doing this interview! Could you start by telling the readers alittle about yourself?
I am an entertainer who lives in Tampa Florida. I have self-released 14 albums on my own Riotboy Records. Music is a huge part of my life...everywhere I go there is a song in my head and new lyrics going through my head. Music has been such a driving force in my life even since I was a little kid, and right on through my teenage years.
Tell us about some of your albums!
My first album “True Stories” came out in 1993, and each album traces the story of my life. I think throughout my career I have refined and improved my sound. My newest record is called “Now’s The Right Time To Feel Good”--it’s my favorite album I have ever done. It’s a pretty heavy album...it deals with a lot of emotions and psychological personal growth. My next album I think it’s time to put on the dancing shoes and have fun!
Do you write your own songs or no?
Yes I do. Very rarely I collaborate with other people, and 4 times in my career I have covered songs by outside artists.
Which one of your songs is your favorite? And why?
Probably “Christmas Alone” from my ROMANTICO album. The song is about my grandma who passed away, and some of my fondest memories of Christmas as a child. The song makes me cry. I had some wonderful memories of my family.
Who are some of your musical influences?
Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey, Prince
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Still passionate about my music. Still writing. Still involved in music somehow. I recently took a trip back to NY (where I was born) and reflected about where I was ten years ago. It’s amazing what can happen in ten years. I am lucky to be where I am today.
How long have you been singing and stuff?
Since I was 3! I used to sing along with Fleetwood Mac records using the vacumn cleaner as the microphone. My first self-released album came out in 1993
What different palces has your career takin you?
I just did a tour of New York State. In 2004 I did a west coast tour. I have been lucky to play in some wonderful cities. And I plan to see many more!
What advice would you give to people trying to make it big?
I think the most important thing is to just love what you do. Redefine what “making it big” means to you. If your song has moved one person, or caused one person to dance, or one person to think, then your music has already made a difference in the world. It all starts with one person. If you are lucky enough to effect two people, even better. And three, and so on. Just do your music because you love it. And keep trying. Fate will take you where you are supposed to go.
