Could you start by telling us alittle about yourself?
My name is Kasey, and I am 17 years old. I'm a senior in high school, and am excited to say that I am looking forward to the release of my album early next year!

How long have you been performing?
I started performing for an audience at 8 years old.

How did you start performing?
I started singing solos in church after our music pastor heard me sing at an event.

Do you have an album out yet or working on one?
I just finished working on my first album with Universal/Blackground Records. It should release early next year.

Do you write your own songs as well?
I have co-written a few songs with other writers and producers from my production company Soulpower.

Which one of your songs is your favorite so far and why?
My favorite song on my record is "Lonely Days". It is a song that I can relate to very well, and I know it is something that other girls will be able to identify with as well.

Do you like to write, record, or perform live better and why?
I'm not sure which one of those I enjoy more. I enjoy recording because you can learn SO much about yourself as an artist. But it is such a great feeling to perform live for an audience, and feed off of their energy.

Do you get nervous before you go on stage?
Yes, I always get butterflies before I perform somewhere, but it goes away as soon as I get on stage.

What do you do to prepare for a performance?
I usually warm up my voice, and drink alot of water. And I ALWAYS pray before I go on stage.

What are your other hobbies besides performing?
I love to hang out with my family and friends, go to the movies, play sports, and go to concerts.

Do you have any upcoming tours?
Not yet. Hopefully soon!!

What should we see from your career in the future?
you should expect my album to be a mix of different genres. I have some hip hop/r&b tracks, as well as some pop rock tracks. I am very excited to share it with everyone!!

If you could give one peice of advice to aspiring performers what would it be?
It is a very tough business, with alot of criticism. Always stay true to yourself, but try to learn as much as you can from people who are successful in the business.
