Can you tell us a bit about your upcoming project, Canterbury’s Law:
Well Canterbury's Law is a law drama surrounding the life's of four lawyers who practice at the Canterbury law firm run by Elizabeth Canterbury played by Julianna Margolles. It goes deep into the lives of the lawyers professionally, personally, and the outrageous court cases they choose to represent and the unique way in which they go about doing it.

What’s your character like on the show?
My character is like a young Johhny Cochran. A very aggressive driven lawyer with a lot of talent quick wit and an intense desire to prove himself as soon as possible.

Are you similar to Chester?
I am similar in that I myself am extremely driven I can identify with his desire to make his mark and we both happen to have good taste in suits. . . .lol

Any embarrassing moments on the set?
No more than a few flubbed lines but I'll keep you posted. . . .

What has been the most memorable experience on set?
I think so far my most memorable time on set was the first time I got to prove my case in front of an entire court room. It was just like I pictured it on the old TV show “Matlock” without all the law school usually required. It felt pretty real until they said cut!

You’ve worked on television and in movies. How does the atmosphere differ between the two?
I think with movies it allows you to be much more creative because you are not so confined when it comes to time. With TV though creative, it requires long hours and a lot of deadlines so sometimes it can quickly become routine.

Which do you prefer working on and why?
Well I love doing both, but with movies when done right it can make a lasting impression on people long after your gone it's a way to almost leave a permanent piece of your work here.

You’ve won a Camie award for your acting and several Oscar nominations for films you’ve been in. How did you feel when you received the award and the nominations?
Well of course anytime you are recognized for your work its an honor. but to be nominated for an Oscar was so surreal and still at times it seems that way. But it did give me the confirmation that anything is possible...

You’re also currently working on your album, Utopia. What got you interested in music?
Yeah, well music is actually my first love it's the main reason I even moved out to Hollywood, but to have been able to make a career in the acting world has been the "divine accident" so to speak.

Would you say music is harder than acting?
I wouldn’t say its harder just a different medium; however with the way the music industry is in such a state of change right now it does make it a little more challenging to break through if your a brand new artist.

If you had to choose one of the two to do for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why?
You know I get asked that question all the time and I always say I never hope I have to choose. I think one craft feeds the other at least for me it does. I think every great scene has a rhythm and every great song has an element of drama to it.

What type of genre is your music?
If I had to pick a genre I would say my music is soul music.

How did you pick what music was going to be on your album?
Well I record as many songs as possible and then narrow it down to the 12-15 strongest ones at least what I and my staff feel are and go with it. Always paying attention how one song flows with the next in terms of fitting in to the entire body of work.

If you could collaborate with one artist, who would it be and why?
I think if I could pick one artist it would be Sting. I have always admired his sound and song writing and how his music can immediately put you in a certain type of mood as soon as you press play.

In the future, do you plan to intertwine singing and acting or follow one career path?
Well I feel like I already do intertwine them both. A lot of the TV and film projects that I get a chance to work on I try to definitely include some of my music. I feel like the acting and singing is one career path just two different ways to express yourself.
