Hello Lindsay! Thank you so much for doing this interview! Could you start by telling the readers alittle about yourself?
My name is Lindsay Rush and I'm a singer-songwriter-guitarist from Philadelphia, PA.

So tell us a little about your album "August Day"
Yeah, my new album, "August Day," will be out this coming Fall. It's my second album. I have spent the last year and a half or so writing all of the thirteen tracks for the album, and in fact I just finished writing the last song for it this week. So it has really been a long process in that sense. It's going to be really different from my first album, and this one is definitely more "Me." It is a really genuine album in the sense that everything from production to the songs themselves and everything in between, are true to who I am and what I like. I am also co-producing the album.

Do you also write your own songs?
Yes, I do.

Which song is your favorite out of your songs so far? And why?
That's hard. Each time I wrote one of the songs and decided to put it on the album, it became one of my favorites and that's why I chose it. I think the song, "Every Part of Me" has been my favorite one up to this point to play live because it's the one that is the closest to me heart. It's about the time in my life, which was pretty recently actually, when I became much more confident and really came out of my shell. And it's symbolic of the people and events more recently that have given me the opportunity to find myself. In fact, the album title, "August Day," came from a line in that song.

Do you enjoy writing, recording, or performing live the best? Why?
I really love to perform and record in different ways, but writing is my first love. It is the basis of everything else that I do. It's been the aspect of my career that has opened the most doors for me. And I want to always write, whether it be for myself or for other artists, etc. for the rest of my life.

So who are some of your musical influences?
I love Lisa Loeb, Maia Sharp, Leigh Nash from Six Pence None the Richer. Lisa Loeb, especially has been the most influential to me, not only musically, but business-wise and personally as well.

How did you get started out singing?
I have been singing since before I could talk. My parents are both musicians and always have been. So, I had no choice, but to fall into it naturally. But I'm so lucky that I have that in my blood and in my living environment, because I think it's harder to get into if you don't have people around you who understand it. My family definitely does, and they have been my biggest supporters.

What are some of your hobbies other than singing?
I love to draw and go on "adventures" with my friends. We like to go "ghost-hunting" actually. It sounds weird, but I live in a very supposedly hanuted area, so we like to get creative with that.

What piece of advice would you give to aspiring singers?
I have been told "You've gotta just go." That sound simple and very open- ended, I know. But it's true. You just have to go in with no fear and pick your goals and achieve them.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I see myself recording my fifth or six major label album. I also see myself writing for other artists, and touring. And I see myself giving rising singer-songwriters the opportunity to open for me and learn on the job, like Lisa Loeb has done for me.

Well thank you so much for the interview! I hope your music takes you far! Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
