the Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both World Concert

So you’re most commonly known as “Smokin Oken” on Hannah Montana. How does it feel being so famous?
It's crazy really. I love it, but it is strange having people stop you on the street and stuff.

Hannah Montana really gave your career a boost. Other than that, what’s the best thing about it?
Two things, the friends I have made like Miles and Em and definitely the Fans. They make the whole thing so much more fun.

Which episode was your favourite to film?
I really like when I get to be Mike Standley III because it's great being two different characters on one show and this season I got to do that in several of the episodes. There are several new episodes from second season that haven't even aired yet, so keep watching. I have a Big Secret in one of them and a new girlfriend in another.

If you had to pick one cast mate, who would you say you’re closest to?
That's hard because I can honestly say that we're all good friends even Billy Ray. But if I have to choose, I am going to say Miles. We talk on the phone at all hours and we call each other for advise. She's a great person and a great friend.

Have you ever had any embarrassing moments on set?
Boy have I, but you won't hear about any of them here or ever probably. I love when people are so eager to share an embarrassing moment....I just sit back and listen and keep my mouth closed.

What was your dressing room like?
My parents went all out and made it into a rapper, gangster type theme and they had old posters and fake fur and gold chains and tire rims, crazy hats, traffic light, 8 ball bean bag chair. The walls were painted 6 different colors. They had tables made that actually had graffiti on them. One said Oliver and one said Mitchel. It was a great place to hang out.

If you had the chance to write an episode for Hannah Montana, what would happen in it?
Oh my Gosh....I would have lot's of Music. We would all form a band and travel to Africa and have a concert and raise money for children who are in need. Or we would all have super powers and do something that saved the world. I better leave the writing to the writers.

What is your most memorable memory from the set of Hannah Montana?
There's no way to pick a favorite memory because the whole thing has been AMAZING. But I will say that shooting in front of a live audience on Friday nights is a lot of fun for all of us and always makes for a great experience with the fans.

When you were on set, what was your daily routine like?
Table Read, School, Blocking, More School, Lunch, A little more school, More Blocking, and even More School and Run Through...something like that

What are the best parts/worst parts of acting?
The whole thing is fun. I love everything about it. The only down side is sometimes you feel like your always ON and sometimes you want to turn the switch OFF. I really enjoy my time at home with my family and my big ol' dog Stitch. But don't leave me at home too long because I'm ready to get back out there.

What future projects can we expect you in?
I am working on my album so keep looking out for that. I am finishing up a film in Utah for the Disney Channel right now. I am currently the voice of Jeremy (Ashley Tisdale's Boyfriend) on Phineas & Ferb for the Disney Channel. We will start filming the Hannah Monttana Feature Film in just a few weeks and the new season of Hannah Montana will start filming after that.

Coolest celeb you’ve met?
Jessica Alba, Jon Heder, Steven Speilberg.

Mitchel at the Electronics Celebrity Retreat

Who do you most want to work with?
Jessica Alba & I would say Jon but we did Monster House together so I am going to say.....Christian Bale.

Nicest thing a fan has said/done?
They all do the nicest things. A lot of them have given me incredible gifts and I wonder if their parents know they are spending money on me...but most of all the nicest things they do are send me notes on my Blog or in letters and just how they let me know what's going on in their lives and how I inspire them to keep after their dreams. I think that is the coolest part.

How do you balance your acting career and your regular life?
I have a lot of Great friends who keep me grounded and my family who is always there for me.

Have you had to deal with people wanting to be your friend only because you’re on television?
Sure, I think everyone does.

How did you deal with it?
You just have to be nice to people and know that the people that knew you before you were famous are going to be some of your best friends for life. And I always have my industry friends who just think I am a normal kid, which I am, so that's Great.

What advice would you give upcoming actors?
Keep after your dreams. Don't let go of them. I had several no's for every yes in the process of getting where I am today so you gotta keep trying. Don't give up!.

You’re also on Phineas and Ferb which has started airing. What was it like only using your voice?
Incredibly fun. That is a great group of people to work with. I get to be the boyfriend who is the cool blond surfer dude and work with people like Ashley Tisdale so you know it's a lot of fun!

You travelled to London to promote Phineas and Ferb! What was that experience like?
Can you believe I got a free trip to London to promote the show? I could not believe it. It was fabulous and something I will never forget! Alyson Stoner 's mom took lots of pictures and we just got them in the mail...very cool!

You’re also working on music and you’ve been travelling throughout America doing small concerts and even meeting fans during Miley’s concerts. What inspired you to start getting involved with music?
My family has always enjoyed music. My grandma actually sang on the radio when she was a little girl. My mom and Dad met doing musical theater back in Texas and we just grew up listening to show tunes and Christian music. My older brother is really talented. He picked up the guitar and never put it down. You never had a time when someone was yelling out, you need to practice. He Loved it and played every day for hours. He and I both took some piano lessons and I remember our teacher was so nice and made it fun. Mason played at our church for a year or two. He is now the lead singer of Metro Station for Sony/Columbia Records and had his first album come out a few months ago. I have always really looked up to him and every once in a while I would ask him for help with singing or playing the guitar and he always encouraged me. One day I just said I really want to give this a try. My family put 100% into it and here I am today about to take on this huge tour with Raven Symone.

Which of your songs is your favourite so far?
Probably "Tell Me". The fans haven't heard it yet and I hope they love it. It is a fun song about Summer Love

Are you going to continue into a music career with an album etc, or concentrate on acting?
I am definitely working on my first album and will continue to do acting too.

Are you planning to do a world tour any time soon?
I'm starting with this tour and we'll see where it leads.

What’s the last dream you had?
It was a scary dream…I remember waking up at 3:00am. I think the dream was about Sean Kingston. When I woke up, my phone was ringing and the ringtone was Sean Kingston! It was so weird!

Last song you heard.
Justin Timberlake-goes around, comes around

What do you look for in a girl?
You know what? I really don’t have a taste…It isn’t all about looks or what color hair she has it has a lot to do with personality. Same with my music! I like a lot of different genres…

What’s more important… music or girls?
Oh my goodness! That’s a very good question! I love them both! I can’t pick one!

What’s the best date you’ve had?
I don’t really go on dates…I don’t like them! I like dates with large groups of friends, not one-on-one dates unless I found the right girl!

So what? Are you intimidated by girls for the one on one?
No! I got girls figured out! I’m not sure about international women but I got American girls all figured out!

Who would be your perfect celebrity date?
I used to have a huge crush on Jessica Alba! I don’t have one currently though…

Describe yourself in four words.
Caring. Girl-crazy. Funny. Energetic.

If you were a superhero, who would you be?
Someone who could fly…I think Superman! The whole underwear thing…unbelievable!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Paris, France!

If you were president for one day, what would you do?
I would help find homeless dogs and cats homes, visit as many children’s hospitals as I could, and I would declare a music appreciation day in schools across the country.

What are your hobbies apart from singing and acting?
I just like hanging out…And girls, skateboarding and my fixing up my car!
