Hello girls! How are you?
Hey! We're doing great, and hope you all are too!

Could you please introduce yourselves?
We’re Kristy and Lindsey Landers, of the band, Official Hot Mess.

How did you come up with the name, Official Hot Mess?
We call ourselves Official Hot Mess because it seems as though mischief and trouble always have a way of finding us!...like the time we thought we were on a flight to LA and ended up in Puerto Rico...or the time my spike heel got caught on Lindsey's pants and I accidentally pantsed her on stage! Haha!

Now you two are sisters. Do you guys argue a lot, or are you closer because of the band?
We do argue, but we also balance each other and respect each other and are best friends. I think being in a band together has brought us closer, but also gives us more topics that are open for debate, which potentially leads to conflict over minute artistic differences, lol. We always resolve our differences and come to a mutual consensus together as a team.

What inspires your songs?
We're inspired by anything and everything, from getting rejected in Hollywood to falling in love. Sometimes we'll wake each other up in the middle of the night, when the inspiration hits, and just start writing.

How did you choose the rock genre?
Most of our songs are pop with an underlying rock feel which comes from being influenced by artists like Blondie, Pat Benetar, and The GoGo's. We're influenced by rock, alternative, hip hop, etc and bring aspects of each genre into our personal style.

Out of all the songs you’ve written, which is your favourite and why?
That's a tough one because we feel such a strong connection to all of the songs that we've written but if we have to pick one, our favorite is a fun, upbeat party song that we love called "Dressed Up"

Which do you prefer, song-writing/recording or performing?
We love the creative process of writing and recording (its kind of like therapy for the soul, lol, you get to express inner most thoughts and feelings) , but performing live is the best because it gives us the opportunity to really connect with our fans.

You’ve toured with a variety of people. Is there a chance of having your own tour in the near future?
Absolutely, we've been so lucky to be able to share the stage with some really incredible artists, but we're looking forward to headlining our own tour in the near future.

What upcoming projects do you have regarding your music?
We're so excited because we just found out that our music is going to be featured in a new Nickelodeon show that premieres in July!

umour has it that you’re talented actresses as well! As you looking to pursue an acting career as well?
We love all aspects of entertainment, but right now, music is our main focus, but we're definitely looking forward to getting more involved in acting in the future.

Do you have any upcoming projects?
We have some really exciting television stuff in the works-- we're working on a fun show that goes behind the scenes and documents the crazy antics of Official Hot Mess.

What are your goals for the next few years?
We're hoping to continue making music that our fans can relate to and want to spread a sense of fun and positivity to our fans through our music. Another goal of ours is to reach a level of success so we can be major supporters and contributors to philanthropic organizations that are close to our hearts such as PETA, Clean Oceans and The Wounded Warrior Project, etc.
