Please introduce yourself.
Okay hey! My name is Sara Paxton!
What got you into acting?
I started acting when I was 5-6 because my aunt owns a children’s clothing store and I used to model the clothes with my cousins just for fun. One day an agent said I should take acting classes and my mum was like no way and she threw away his card. Then I saw my cousin on a cover of a newspaper and I got really jealous and so I asked my mum if I could take acting classes. Then it just slowly turned out to me doing this now!
You also sing. How did you get into that?
I’ve been singing and acting my whole life, it’s just that acting took off sooner. When I was little I did a lot of musical theatre where you sing and act at the same time. But acting just took off sooner.
Which do you prefer?
I really like both but I guess I consider myself more of an actress that happens to sing because I really do love acting.
Do you get freebies?
Not really! But sometimes! Like when you go to awards, you get free give aways! I love getting free stuff! I give it to my friends and stuff!
Who are your role models and why?
I’d say Reese Witherspoon and also Goldie Hawn because they’re both beautiful and funny and smart and I think nowadays there’s this thing that if you are good looking, you have to be dumb too. And it’s like why is this suddenly happening? We’re looking up to these people that are good looking and dumb. Are they saying that all actors are dumb? So these women are beautiful and talented and all their roles are smart people.
What future projects can we expect from you?
Well I’m about to start a new movie called Sidney White and the Seven Dorks, with Amanda Bynes. It’s a modern day version of Snow White and Amanda plays Snow White and I play the wicked witch!
What are your passions/concerns for the world?
A lot of things! I wish I could do so much more! Yet I’m only one person. It really frustrates me sometimes when I think of things that I could help more and do more. I definitely want to do so much more in the future! But my main concerns are animals. I’m a total animal lover and I do a lot of events with the RSPCA which is an organization which helps homeless and injured animals and mistreated animals. It’s something I’m really into. Also I really want to go to Africa and help build homes for people in Africa. There’s so much more I want to do but these are the things that I’m definitely thinking about in the next year.

Who are the top people you’ve met?
I met Jim Carrey which was really crazy. He was so funny! It was a long time ago though, I was only 8 so I don’t particularly remember. I remember I was so shocked and I was like omg I love you! I don’t get star struck because I don’t think about it too much. I live in LA so when I see someone famous in the street I’m just like oh hi! But I still get embarrassed when I talk with them! I just wanna be like: I love you! But then I don’t say anything! Like ask my mum!! One time I met the guy from Smallville, I thought he was so cute. I went up to talk to him and then I didn’t know what to say! I was just like omg hi…umm…I always spilt a drink on you…haha! He was just like what and I went so red and ran away! I was so embarrassed! It just came out! I don’t even know why I said it!
So…can you tell us another embarrassing moment?
Where do I begin?! Haha! One time when I was in 10th grade, I really liked this guy but I was so afraid to talk to him. I would always bump into him after school though because we had our locker areas close. So before our very last class, my friends would prep me on how to talk to him and then they took a picture of him from the yearbook and blew it up for me and I had to look at the picture straight into the eyes and say: Hey, whats up? So we were walking down the hallway with my friends and they pushed me into him. I fell and I was laying on the ground and I saw the guy walk him towards me and I saw his arm reaching out. I was thinking omg this is the moment, he’s going to help me up and talk to me! Instead…he started pointing at me and laughing, and then walked away.
If you could do anything for one day, what would it be?
I would have no cell phone and just have me and a few of my close friends and have fun! I just want to have a perfect day of fun! Sleep in late, wake up, and then go to Disney land or something! Go to the beach…then come home and yeah…basically no cell phone! I hate it when I’m having a good time with my friends and then my phone rings.
What was your favourite movie/tv show to film and why?
Probably Aquamarine because so much fun and I got to film it in Australia! I loved it there!! Omg everyone was so nice and everyone was my best friend from day 1! It was so much fun! Every day we’d go to work and then come home and jump in the ocean and go swimming and like hang out by the beach. My apartment was by the beach so I’d go there and we’d watch movies and eat pizza with Emma and Jojo. It was perfect! And then we filmed on the beach so we were hanging out all day!
Have you kept in contact with co-actors from your movies?
I try and keep in contact. It’s hard because you’re busy, they’re busy, they’re away etc. I mostly keep in contact with my friend Emma who I did Aquamarine with, because we’re neighbours actually. It’s like a 2 minute drive to her house so I’m just like whats up?
If you could change something about your life, what would you change?
I’m an only child so I wish I had a brother or sister. I mean I wouldn’t change anything because I’m happy as I am but maybe for one day, I’d see what it’d be like to have a brother or sister.
What has been the toughest thing to do in your life?
Juggling acting and school and friends. It’s really hard especially when you’re little because friends don’t understand why you can’t go to their birthday party because you’re working on a movie. They don’t understand. I was a little kid and had responsibilities and friends get their feelings hurt. It was also hard to balance school because they always want you on set and it’s hard to focus on your work. That’s probably the hardest thing I’ve had to do.
Are you studying in college currently or concentrating on acting?
I really want to go to college and actually planned to but then I got these movies but I think I’m going to take online classes so I can keep myself caught up with everyone. I definitely however plan on attending, no matter what.
What do you want to study?
Business and history!
How does it feel to be a role model and have people look up to you?
I never really think about that but if people look up to me as a role model, then I’m really flattered and I’ll do everything I can to be a good role model!
What is the nicest thing a fan has ever said to you?
Mostly fans don’t really say anything when they meet me because they’re usually really nervous and all like: oh hi can I have your autograph? But I get a lot of letters; I get a lot of really nice fan mail! It’s so nice that I sit and reply to every single one. I got this really nice letter from Japan, I had no idea people knew who I was in Japan, and she was like: I learnt English just so I could write this letter to you! I was so flattered! I wrote to her back! I hope she understood what I said! Her hand writing was perfect and mine is horrible! I also got a letter from a soldier in Iraq and I was really flattered. So I’m going to send him a whole bunch of stuff and an autograph. My cousin is actually in Afghanistan so I feel it’s a touchy subject.
Tell me random facts about you.
I can touch my tongue to my nose.
I can do a lot of voices. I actually do voices on SpongeBob Square Pants. I sing the theme song. There’s the pirate voice and the little kid voice. I’m the little kid voice and my voice is multiplied by a thousand to it sounds like loads of kids!
I love animals! There’s this pet store by my house and I go in there about one hour a day. I just sit there and play with the puppies!
I love going to the beach because even in the winter, it doesn’t get that cold!
I love renting bikes and one time, I went to the beach, rented a bike and put my dog in the basket and rode her around! She’s a Chihuahua in case you were wondering.
If you were stuck on a desert island with only three things, what would they be?
Sun block, matches and my dog! [Aww]

I’d say forest because I might get freaked out in the mountains being so high up.
Tell me one of your phobias.
Omg I have so many phobias it’s not even funny! My two top fears are number one, cockroaches and number two, barf.
If you could be a super hero, who would you be?
I want to be…Spiderman!! Batman doesn’t really do anything…he has a lot of gadgets and super man…he has a weird costume and idk. But Spiderman gets to fly around the city and use his web hands!! Idk! He’s cool!
If you could have one super power, which one would you have?
I wish I could change into an animal. Is that weird? I was going to say I want to be invisible, but if I could change into any animal, then I could kind of be invisible anyway! I would say I want to fly but I don’t know…then everyone would see me fly and scientists would be like omg the flying girl! Capture her!!
What’s your ideal date?
Probably dinner and talking like have a really nice dinner and get to know each other. Then afterwards doing something fun! Like going to an amusement park and riding all the rides or to a carnival and going on the Ferris wheel! Just doing something fun after! Or going to see a movie!
Do you like sports?
I like watching competitive sports but I don’t like playing competitive sports. I never feel that I’m competitive enough. Like when I was in school and we were playing basketball, I’d get yelled at because I wouldn’t pass the ball quick enough. I mean it’s just a game! I don’t feel that kind of competitive urge! But I like riding bikes, running on the beach, playing with my dog, surfing and snowboarding. Sports that don’t involve other people!
What are your hobbies?
I like to go to the movies, I like to hang out with my friends, I like going to the beach and collecting shells! I love travelling and seeing new places.
What do you look for in a guy?
I look for a sense of humour and kindness. When I first meet a guy, I can right away tell what kind of person it is. I look for nice guys; I’m not into bad boys! I just like nice guys who are funny, kind and sweet!
What type of genre of movies do you like?
I like comedies!! I’ll see a drama if it interests me but I actually going to movies and laughing! I laugh so hard in the movies and I’m one of the only ones laughing!!

I have a website but it’s not really updated. I will work on that. People can also contact me through my manager, which is where I seem to get most fanmail from. Do you have a myspace?
I do have a myspace. It’s weird because there are so many posers of me. They’re all like I’m the real Sara blah blah! It’s so weird! I get these messages sometimes saying who do you think you are, trying to be Sarah? Delete your myspace now! I’m like go away, leave me alone! But yes, I do have a myspace. It’s private however. I only add my friends. Sorry. I have had so many people pretending to be my friends and then stealing all my pictures and make poser pages. So if you’re talking to a “me,” chances are it’s a poser!
