The album has it’s share of greats, but the majority of songs are a bit too repetitive for my taste. Mandy’s voice is amazing and even better than in her last 2 albums. Her voice has grown, it’s much deeper and richer. I would not have chosen a couple of the songs as covers, but Mandy does make every single song on the album work because she is good at what she does. Senses Working Overtime has a very different sound than the original by Xtc. The cover brings a much more classic Mandy sound with a catchy chorus you’ll find yourself unable to not sing along with. The lyrics to Whole of the moon are what first attracted me to it. The songwriting was beautifully done and what’s better than getting to hear it done by Mandy? Can we still be friends and Have a lil faith are awesome, good , great and everything else! The lyrics have a strong message that many can relate to. Mandy’s voice reminds me of how she sounded in the first album. It’s strong and meaningful and like we’re all used to… Mona lisas and mad hatters is my favorite song off the album! It creates definite competition with the original! When I first put the album on while retiring for the night, this song put me to sleep. Drop the Pilot is the “Get up and dance” songs off the album. Anticipation is pretty song. I find it find to sing along to because it has a fun chorus. Breaking us in two is the heartfelt song. I felt a small tear in my eye for a friend going through the situation at the moment. I’ll be sure to recommend it to him! Go Mandy! Always creating emotions through her music :o) One way or another is my official “Take it or leave it” song from the album. It’s nothing special to me, it’s okay. Help me makes me say “Help me!”, I strongly dislike it, but for some, it may be alright. I just cant find anything special about it. The overall review of the album is a B. The album could be an A if every song was as memorable as Have a little faith In Me (the first single)…BUT, Mandy’s voice gets an A+++ !!! :-D
